SERIOUSLY NOTCH WHY NO 1.9 YET!!!!!! Sorry for all caps I'm just really mad that notch isn't releasing 1.9 yet i mean come on he's gone up to pre 6 and he is still pushing it!!! he will probably wait until the official release of minecraft to release the 1.9 stuff or he will release it 2day or 2morrow idk!?! so for now all we can do is wait and hope that 1.9 will be here soon.

instead go get the new launcher click on edit profile push allow beta versions click on 1.9 ok :D

Actually the update is planned to be released before thanksgiving. It was originally supposed to be released in October but bugs and code fizes were needed and the update is taking longer than planned. It is now actually the longest planned and worked on update in minecraft history.
