Bored? Not sure what to do in Minecraft? Losing interest in the game altogether? Well don't give up, because I've compiled a list of my 5 favourite Minecraft mini games (although some of them might not count as o minio ) and a list of great servers that you can play them on. However, like everything, each game has its disadvantages and you might want to be aware of those before you start playing. So here they are:

1) The Hunger Games/ Survival Games

Youo ll probably be aware of this already but hereo s why survival games are great: the sense of competition, fear and excitement it makes you feel is unmatched by any other game. The buzz when youo re chasing down a helpless victim makes it worth playing. You dono t need a great deal of skill; luck and knowledge of the map determines whether or not youo ll find food, armour and weapons, which are essential for your survival. Ito s simple and easy to do, and there are often hiding places to avoid getting killed early on. Plus, lots of the newer survival games maps look truly incredible and ito s worth playing in them.

Disadvantages: Obviously, there is the danger of being killed early on and that makes spending time getting into the game and waiting for it to start a complete waste of time. Sometimes, ito s more waiting than actually playing.

2)TNT Run

This involves basically running along a gravel floor and trying not to fall through it as TNT under the gravel is set off and blocks fall down behind you as you run. Again, ito s simple and fast-paced. Easy to play and exciting. Luck is important to achieve victory but parkour skill comes in handy.

Disadvantages: You need a high FPS rate to play it, otherwise you dono t stand a chance of victory. Essentially, it just involves running around so you may get bored.

3) The Walls

I found this to be one of the most addictive and challenging games in Minecraft. It takes place in an arena split into four quadrants, with one team in each, and a giant wall separating them. You and your team have 15 minutes to do all the basic survival stuff and make your own weapons and armour using the resources around you; when the timer stops, the walls come down and the fighting begins. The winner is the last team/player standing. This pretty much just involves skill: how well you can operate and arm yourself in a quarter of an hour. Teamwork and sharing resources usually stands you in good stead, plus you can create your own base with traps. The best thing about it, is the wide range of tactics you can employ. Use bows or swords, buckets of lava or even flint and steel; you may be aggressive or defensive and play it however you want.

Disadvantages: Your team may not work with you; stealing resources is sometimes an issue. Or worse: they can team-kill you, not with weapons but by burning you alive. I found this out the hard way. Also, the whole o collecting resources-thingo can get boring. Although the 15 minutes are exciting, ito s also a little repetitive and not worth it if you get killed instantly after the walls comes down.

4)Hide n Seek

One of the lesser-known games, this is something I absolutely loved. Forget paintball. Forget parkour. Forget PVP. This is all about hiding. When you start the game you become a block. You are literally a block, and you have to find a good hiding place where you can fit in. Some people are seekers and have to find the blocks that are out of place, and must o killo them before they run away. The longer you survive, the harder it becomes as the people who are found turn into seekers themselves and set out to find the remaining hiders (although hiders eventually gain weapons to knock back the seekers). If a hider survives a certain amount of time, the hiders win. If all the hiders are found, the seekers win. Simple, right? Finding a good hiding place in any of the different maps is a great challenge, and ito s a thrill both being a seeker and being a hider wondering if youo ll get found. Ito s hilarious watching logs jumping around, and the games are nice no short.

Disadvantages: All that comes to mind is that it might get boring just sitting in one place for an entire game; it can happen if you find a really good hiding place and dono t get spotted, but this isno t always the case.

5)Sumo Wrestling

Two teams. One platform. The aim is simple. Push members of the other team off the platform. It usually turns into complete anarchy and chaos rather than tactical gameplay but that just makes it more exciting. I didn't think Io d enjoy this game, but ito s weirdly addictive. It shouldn't be fun; but it is.

Disadvantages: Again, you need a high FPS, preferably a large screen and high-quality graphics. This is to avoid just spinning around and frantically clicking your mouse buttons at random people, so you can actually aim at members of the other team.

Right now, I'm obsessed with Hide no Seek. You may not agree with me, but Io d say ito s the best game purely because of how tactical and fast-paced it all is, and because there are so many stages to the game. Finding a spot, hiding, nervously watching the seekers run past, gearing up, (possibly) getting found, seeking out the remaining hiders, etc. It draws me in like no other game in Minecraft. Although I also have a soft spot for The Walls. But that's just me.

My favourite mini-game servers:

The Hive o IP: hivemc.eu (best for Hide n' Seek and Survival Games)

Ito sJerryandHarry o IP: playitsjerryandharry.com (best for Sumo wrestling)

Hypixel Server o IP: mc.hypixel.net (best for The Walls and TNT Run)

So whato s your favourite? Water battle? King of the ladder? Horse racing? Cops no Robbers? Mario Kart? Skyblock? Tell me in the comments!
