Hi guys, I'm Greytopher and I'm here to help you guys rap your mind around how hard it is to make a quality blog, and what you can do to help yourself. I hope you guys enjoy!

It's Not As Easy As It Looks...

Writing blogs is no laughing matter. It takes time, patience, and extreme thinking to come up with a great and known blog. For me, I've written 36 blogs, this being my 37th, and I feel like I improve on each one. I just want to say to all aspiring bloggers out there that blogging is hard. It's a hard category since it doesn't get very popular, like projects and skinning. Be warned that not everyone will achieve things out of this. Without any delay, I will show you my ways of how to make a blog; Greytopher style!

Thinking Of An Idea...

When I think of ideas, I think 'what's helpful and informational that the community has never seen before?' I try my best to come up with original ideas, but it's definitely hard since a lot of great ideas have been taken. For me, I take inspiration from others, and I don't want to plagiarize someone. To 'plagiarize' someone is to copy someone almost word for word, or word for word at the most. It's basically stealing someone's work and saying it's your own. I bet you see a lot of skins stolen from people like Sneeze7, or other well-known PMCers. These fanboys want to become famous, and I assume they're children since they steal from the well known. Well that my friend, is something you DON'T want to do, is to steal. It's morally wrong, and won't get you any credit since someone out of the 600,000 people on this damn website will eventually find out what you're doing.

Now, the good part of this is to take inspiration from someone and develop your own idea from someone else. I get ideas from TV shows, computer games, other PMCers, and more. Ideas are endless, so please don't waste your time to take someone else's hard work and taking the easy way out. You will be caught.

As you probably know from my inspiration blog, there are tons of ways to get ideas. Getting ideas can be very easy, or very hard. For me, I don't know what I'm going to write about until I feel like writing. I never know in advance what I'm going to do. Sometimes, the best way to get an idea of what to do, is to not focus on what you're doing at all. Taking your mind off of something can really help, and a idea will form in your big brain eventually.

Cover Photos...

Back in the day, I did my own cover photos. My first 10 or so blogs, I found them on the internet, I didn't make them. I would search up what my title was, and pick out my favorite pictures from Google Images. Nooby, right? Now since I have Photoshop, and my wonderful friend Dingousa, I make my own cover photos. Now, this doesn't happen all the time. Almost ALL of the very cool graphics are made by dingousa. I make the ones with the background and the text, he makes all the cool graphics for me since I have no skill in making them! I just want to thank him for doing so, since they look very nice.

Cover photos are the first thing that people see. They hook people in, and should relate to your topic. Don't post a blog about muffins but the cover photo be a creeper. It doesn't make any sense, and more or less makes you look dumb. Keep it related to your blog!

Formatting and Writing...

As a lot of you may know, I have a certain style of writing. I'm known for being dramatic in my writing, therapeutic (I don't know, ask the people that tell me), and sometimes people classify me as a psychologist. Either way, EVERYONE has their own style of writing, and it's easy (if you know the person well enough) to see who is saying what.

Now, your writing should stay true to yourself. Lots of practice and constructive criticism can get you far, and the more open you are to help, the better you will get at writing. Don't be afraid to post crap blogs at first. Everyone starts somewhere!

You're formatting of your writing should be what makes you... you. My formatting includes adding lines, and bolding and underlining my headers. I write long blocks of text that are jam packed with detail, and drama. Oliverfrenchie uses banners as his headings, and he has a certain text and background that goes along with it. He keeps his text short and sweet, down to the point.

Your formatting can be of anything, as long as you don't copy others. I've seen people basically plagiarize Oliver with the same type of banner. Although it is flattering, you should have your own style! Think of it as a signature, it's what makes you different from everyone else.

I personally like to make long walls of text. It makes me feel accomplished, like I've done all I could for what I can show you guys. I don't like to make it short and sweet because when I do it, I don't like not adding in certain details that I will probably miss. That's why my blogs are so long; I like to put a lot of effort into each one of them, and it usually pays off in the end. Don't be afraid to write a lot, writing blogs is hard to get at, and only a few people have that magic touch to make good blogs. Making blogs about your CoD flawless 30-0 is cool, but not for PMC. Make it related (somewhat) to PMC or Minecraft. It usually is a attention grabber.

This attention grabber should be your first couple of sentances in the beginning. For me, I keep it short to summarize what I'm going to write about. For you, the options are endless; you can make a extremely awesome hook in the middle that sucks your readers in, and so on. Try new things, and see what works!

The Finishing Touches...

Ending your blog can be hard. Sometimes, you write so much, you don't know when to end. You have to atleast think out what you're going to do before you do it. Especially your ending. You don't want to rant on about something, and just abruptly end it leaving readers hanging. Those are only good in stories or parts of blogs, like if you have a series going on. If your doing a one time thing, be sure to leave readers with all of their questions answered, or them feeling completed, not like it's missing something.

Other then your ending, a little spice shouldn't hurt. I add a banner signature, made by Dingousa, at the end of my blogs. This is another thing that makes my blogs unique and original, and adding something at the end of your blog will make you memorable. If you are memorable, people will recommend you to their friends, family, ect. You will get 'famous' and more known if you do something that is definitely rememorable. Anything from comedy to pure stupidity could work (although stupidity is something I don't advise doing...), just be sure that it works.

When To Post?

Posting is a key thing when making anything! Your posting time can varry, and I post usually at certain times. Usually, I post around 5-6 PM PST, that's when most of my subscribers are on anyways. But now, I want to expand my fanbase, and get subscribers from all around the PMC community. So now, I post at different times, hoping to get different people rather then getting the same old people everytime that I post (no offense to my current subscribers!).

The main thing you DON'T want to do, is if something doesn't get popular, don't delete it then repost it later. It shows that you are weak with what you do, and only do it for the fame, not the fun. If you post it, try to keep your word. Don't be so flip-floppity, it gets annoying, and for the people who subscribe to you, they will get confused because they think they've already seen that posted before by you.

Questions, Comments?

If you guys have any questions regarding blogs, writing, formatting, cover photos, ect., don't hesitate to ask! I'm here for a reason, and I want to help you guys become successful here. Everyone feels better knowing they've done something good, and I don't want you guys to be stuck in a rut.

Well, that's all I have for today. I hope you all like the blog, it took me a while to write, and this is my spin on how to make a proper, well-formatted blog. Hope to see you all soon!

Hope you all enjoyed it! If you did, please leave a diamond, favorite, and above all subscribe for more content!

Please do not repost this anywhere on the web without my consent, thank you.

For me, I don't know what I'm going to write about until I feel like writing. I never know in advance what I'm going to do.

That, my good friend, is exactly how I come up with ideas - I'm just like "Oh, hey, I'm bored, let's write something!" With my drawings is something different - I'm either bored, feel like drawing it, need to work on a certain aspect, or with a question. More and more recently I've been drawing some technology stuff (like smartphones and tablets) that I dub the "Railway Line", which I guess you could say is a bunch of hardware. It's all based around the question "How can we make this one thing that exists even better? How can we make it something not many people have ever seen before? How can we take this design and make it the same, yet different?" Most of these questions come from we looking at Apple's iDevice line, as they are the ones I find the most interesting and adaptable to any kind of form or question.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen giant blocks of text with no formatting rules or posts that haven't been spellchecked.

Hi there, I was wondering if you could be a writer for my channel on YouTube "CawkavFilms". I really need people to write scripts for me since I don't have much time to do so. (+My English is bad)

Uhh, that is a very interesting idea. I would have to think about it, and could you possibly give me more details of what it's mainly for? Add me on skype, my skype info is on my PMC profile, we could talk more details there!
