The datapack introduces a new mob called the Gem Zombie, which can spawn in place of regular zombies in your world.
These Gem Zombies will always drop one gem, with a total of 12 different gems. To use the gem's powers, put the gem in your off-hand slot.

	The gems can be obtained by killing a Gem Zombie. The Gem Zombie can spawn naturally throughout the world, anywhere a normal zombie can spawn. This means Gem Zombies can spawn from zombie spawners!
There are a total of 12 different gems that the Gem Zombie can drop. Each one will grant a different effect when placed in the offhand slot. There is also the possibility that the Gem Zombie drops a pearl, too!

I just downloaded the pack and installed it to test, and I get the item from the zombie but it doesn't give me the effect...
Any ideas?

If you have more than one gem in a stack at once, the effect will not be granted (This is a bug).

This issue could also be caused by another datapack.

Quick question, can this be done with player heads? Heads are customizable as well. And zombie can equip it

Yes, the original version did not require a resource pack. However I ran into an issue where whenever you would right click it would place down the custom head, and this was incredibly annoying. So I switched to a resource pack. And while I probably could rewrite the pack and try to find a way around the placing down bug, it's quite low on my priority list.

Is the original version available? I am currently trying to use player heads but if you had it already I would prefer player heads since textures are difficult to have on servers

The original version is not available, and trust me you wouldn't want it anyways. Whenever you would right click with the effect gem in your offhand you could potentially place down the effect gem as a block. And to make matters worse, it would also lose it's nbt data and would stop granting the player effects. While workarounds are possible, like I said this is fairly low on my priority list.

Also why are textures difficult to have on servers? You know you can easily make a server resource pack that auto downloads whenever a player joins the server, right?

I self host and getting a website link to work has not worked for me yet. And I noticed you can change it to show if you just have the gem in your inventory but I see if you stack them all in the inventory it is OP. I did notice a lazier way that is just change the gems to the different dyes instead since they are all re-textured white dyes, that way it could still look good enough without a resource pack.

I still really appreciate this pack and am planning on implementing it into my server once I can find a work around as well.
