Required Resource Pack
169
Minecraft is maybe my favourite game I've played in 3D. This can also be said when referring to its 3 dimensions - Overworld, The Nether, and The End. That being said, what would it be like if Minecraft had 10 dimensions instead?
This pack introduces several new dimensions (and new portals to access them), and makes major changes to The Nether and The End - all while leaving Overworld untouched.
Heaven and Hell dimensions have been added, and can be accessed with portals from Overworld. The Nether has been transformed into an intermediate Limbo or purgatory of sorts. The End has been transformed into Space - literally. If you visit a Stronghold and jump into an End Portal, you'll be jumping into space, and you'll die very quickly.
A special dimension called The Nexus has been added, and can be accessed with a portal from Overworld or any of the four Elemental Realms. The Nexus serves as a gateway between Overworld and the Elemental Realms of Air, Water, Fire, and Earth - four additional new dimensions.
Also, whenever you pass through one of the seven new portals, a cool title & subtitle are displayed with the name of the dimension you've just entered!
That's a lot of stuff! I want to give some special shout outs: to TimberForge for his excellent Portals video; and to MysticMage and Rainbeau_Flambe, both of whom responded to my PMs and provided some useful guidance.
A couple of last things...
•Firstly, if you're good at making custom mobs and are up for a challenge, I have some ideas for Air, Water, Fire, and Earth Elemental mobs that could prowl the realms. This is my third data pack (if you like this one, check out my other dimensions, Aes and Shard), so I haven't even looked at how to customize mobs yet.
•Next, I've been having great difficulty implementing custom structures - I could really use some expertise!
•Last, but not least, don't forget to download the resource pack!

Dimensions
OVERWORLD Origin Dimension •The Overworld is essentially unchanged. •Owing to the fact that the Nether and The End have lost everything, there are new recipes that allow you to obtain things like Blaze Rods, Elytra, and much more in the Overworld - these are given below |
LIMBO Nether Realm •Replaces The Nether •Gray cavernous realm made primarily from Gravel, Stone, and Ancient Stone •Soulstone can be mined deep underground with any pickaxe; needed to build Nexus portals and to craft Gemsteel (and many of the new recipes for things like Elytra and Ghast Tear) |
SPACE Infinite Void •Replaces The End •Exactly as it sounds - enter this dimension and you'll find nothing but a quick and awful death from exposure |
HEAVEN Holy Kingdom •Cloud and sky realm made primarily from Soul Sand/Soul Soil (both with new white texture), and Cloudstone •Cloudstone can be mined with any pickaxe; needed to craft Gemsteel |
HELL Unholy Kingdom •Infernal cavernous realm made primarily of Netherrack and Shadowstone •All Netherrack surfaces in the realm are covered with Fire •Shadowstone can be mined underground with any pickaxe; needed to craft Gemsteel |
THE NEXUS Interdimensional Gateway •Interdimensional realm that provides access to realms of Air, Water, Fire, and Earth •Contains only a small Barrier-enclosed area with a Nexus portal, and Air, Water, Fire, and Earth portals |
AIR Elemental Realm •Sky islands realm made primarily from Skygrass and Windclast •Skystone can be mined far below the islands with any pickaxe; needed to build Air portals and to craft Gemsteel •Populated by floating plant and tall coiling vine features |
WATER Elemental Realm •Completely submerged underwater realm primarily made from Prismarine, Dark Prismarine, and Ultramarine •Stormstone can be mined deep underground with any pickaxe; needed to build Water portals and to craft Gemsteel •Gold can be mined deep underground from Marine Gold Ore with any pickaxe •Sea floor teeming with Seagrass and Kelp features |
FIRE Elemental Realm •Lava-flooded rocky wasteland primarily made from Netherrack •Flarestone can be mined deep underground with any pickaxe; needed to build Fire portals and to craft Gemsteel •Gold can be mined deep underground from Nether Gold Ore with any pickaxe •Quartz can be mined deep underground from Nether Quartz Ore with any pickaxe |
EARTH Elemental Realm •Densely-forested hilly plains primarily made from Grass, Dirt, and Verdigris •Lifestone can be mined deep underground with any pickaxe; needed to build Earth portals and to craft Gemsteel •Tall, tightly packed trees cover the entire surface of the realm |
Portals
New portals are constructed in a similar fashion to the Nether Portal - a standard frame made from a specific block, and a certain item used in relation to the frame (like Obsidian with Flint & Steel in that case).
Heaven Portal: Diamond frame + [Eat a Golden Apple while looking through the frame]
Hell Portal: Redstone frame + [Eat some Rotten Flesh while looking through the frame]
Nexus Portal: Soulstone frame + [Drink a Honey Bottle while looking through the frame]
Air Portal: Skystone frame + [Use a Bow while looking through the frame]
Water Portal: Stormstone frame + [Use a Water Bucket in the frame]
Fire Portal: Flarestone frame + [Use Flint & Steel in the frame]
Earth Portal: Lifestone Frame + [Eat a bowl of Mushroom Stew while looking through the frame]
Keep in mind that Air, Water, Fire, and Earth portals can only be crafted within their own dimension (because they're only accessible via The Nexus). These portals can also technically be crafted in the Nexus, as a player in any game mode can repair the portals there; outside of creative mode however, there is not enough space in The Nexus to build additional portals.
