    Welcome to Minecraft: Harvest Moon!

This project is currently under construction. It will be available for download once it's completed!

This pack turns your Minecraft experience into a Harvest Moon-like sandbox game, where the focus is to develop your farmland into crops, grow a fine collection of livestock, buy and sell goods, and more!

Rather than breaking blocks, mining, and exploring, Minecraft: Harvest Moon is all about farming and buying/selling. Your destinations are much more linear in this regard, and life is much more relaxed. Also, because much more depends on day cycles and crop growth, block ticks occur twice as frequently as in vanilla, and time passes four times as fast.

Interesting fact: Zero blocks are generated anywhere via natural world generation with this pack — Void Air is the only thing that 'naturally generates', and that's really just the absence of anything generating. This means that every block you see, every entity, literally everything you come across was placed there by commands.

Instead of trading with villagers like you do in Vanilla, you'll actually buy and sell items using gold, silver, and copper coins. Regarding denominations, 1 silver is worth 10 coppers, and 1 gold is worth 10 silvers (or 100 coppers).

You'll start with a few coppers; more money can be made primarily by selling meat and vegetables in town that were grown in your fields.

Here's what you get when you start:

The Farm is home — it serves as your base of operations. You have a large farmhouse with a big comfy double bed for when you want to come home and sleep, a Furnace to cook, an Anvil to name Name Tags, Cauldrons, empty chests, and more. (You also start at level like 100000, so using the Anvil shouldn't be an issue...)

From the Farm, you can head north to visit the Town, south to visit the Lake, east to visit the Crops, and west to visit the Pasture. Just step on one of the green blocks with the chrysanthemum design to proceed to the next area.

When you need to buy and sell goods, the Town is your destination! From swords to chestplates, from potatoes to live pigs, you can buy and sell just about anything here. You can even find a Moneychanger who will make change for your copper, silver, and gold, as well as a Sage who can give you some interesting nuggets of wisdom for some silver....

Just approach one of the merchants on the stoops of their shops and right click them to do business. Aside from the Moneychanger (who always gives a straight trade) and the Livestock Vendor (who only sells and doesn't buy), you'll find that merchants will generally buy the items they sell, but at a lesser price.... The following spoiler contains a price/goods list for all 17 merchants in the town.

    Merchant Shop Lists
    Sword Merchant (Apprentice)

    Axe Merchant (Apprentice)

    Helmet Merchant (Apprentice)

    Chestplate Merchant (Apprentice)

    Leggings Merchant (Apprentice)

    Boots Merchant (Apprentice)

    Sword Merchant (Master)

    Axe Merchant (Master)

    Chestplate Merchant (Master)

    Leggings Merchant (Master)

    Boots Merchant (Master)

    Vegetable Merchant

    Meat Merchant

    Moneychanger

    Livestock Vendor

    Sage

    Spoiler: Free Sage's Knowledge!

The Lake is a serene place where you can go fishing and spend some relaxation time on the water. You'll find a boat in the water at the end of the dock, and you start with a fishing rod.

You'll also find a small cabin on an island in the lake, complete with its own outhouse (with a moon-shaped hole in the door, a toilet seat, and something unpleasant at the bottom).

(There will be more info about the house on the island in a future update...)

The Crops field is a large area of permanently tilled/moistened Farmland, just waiting to have seeds planted in it. It starts out with no planted crops, but you'll begin with some seeds to get you started.

The Pasture is the place where you'll raise your livestock, and where you can slaughter them and collect their meat for cooking or for sale. New livestock that you've purchased from the Livestock Vendor in Town will be sent to the Pasture immediately, and will be waiting for you when you get there.

One cow, one pig, one sheep, and one chicken will be waiting for you in the Pasture at the start.

There are/will be all kinds of little things to really flesh out the experience. For example, during a New Moon at night, one can find a Wandering Trader standing underneath one of the trees in the yard of the farmhouse; this trader only likes fish, but provides some things you can't get anywhere else...

As well, during a Full Moon at night in the woods in Lake, there is a random chance one might find a lonely (but cute) pup looking for a Bone and some companionship...

As you can see, the buying of equipment is a thing in the Town... I'm planning on implementing a place you can go to use such things and do some righteous bashing (beyond the merciless slaughtering of livestock for meat, that is).

This and more are upcoming... the project is just getting started! As stated above, it will be available for download when it's completed.

No, this project is a datapack with an associated resource pack.

It might not be explicity stated above so much but... each area is a separate dimension too :).

The biggest dofference is in the construction. though - if you break one of the blocks in a dimension, it gets replaced immediately.

This looks and sounds amazing, to me Minecraft creators always used some of the mechanics of games like Harvest Moon when developing the game so actually bringing Harvest Moon aspects in to Minecraft is long overdue, cant wait :)
