Don't forget the Resource Pack!
Special note to those at Level 1:
Please discard any expectations that mods of any kind will work with data packs — especially data packs like this one, which includes brand new, unsupported features (i.e. World Generation). Comments perceived to be from trolls will be removed.
Welcome!
Welcome to a project that broadens the horizons of where (and when) you can go in your Minecraft world - you'll truly feel like the Master of Time and Space!
This pack adds a lot of awesomeness, so let's get started.
The Basics
Inspired by legendary SNES RPG Chrono Trigger, your goal is to visit a special place called The End of Time. This is a simple dimension with a platform and three portals - one leading to the past, one to the present, and one to the future...
Before jumping in, a very small group of changes to Vanilla should be mentioned:
The Fun Stuff
Alrighty, now for the fun stuff... how do we get to The End of Time?
Well first, you'll need to build yourself an Aeon Clock. Introducing a new recipe:
You'll need to gather a Clock, a Compass, a Heart of the Sea, a Star of the Void (renamed from Nether Star in this pack), and an Eye of Ender and bend them over your crafting table to make one.
With your Aeon Clock clutched firmly in the off-hand, use an Ender Pearl and you'll be transported to The End of Time.
Head to the left for the Past, straight for the Present, and to the right for the Future...
Past, Present, & Future
The Present is just the Vanilla Overworld dimension (sans the Prismarine Shards as mentioned above).
Because The Present is the place where Time is happening now, it's the place in which you need your Aeon Clock to go to The End of Time. Entering the Present portal in The End of Time will return you to the spot you were standing when you used the Aeon Clock.
When you visit The Past or The Future, you'll always find an indestructible portal back to The End of Time at (X,Z) = (0,0); these are the portals you 'arrive through' from The End of Time. Pictures of them are in the below Past & Future sections - yes, these are pictures of portals that use pictures of portals that use pictures of other dimensions....
To clarify, the Aeon Clock only works in The Present, and the portals are used in The Past & The Future. You never need to build any of the numerous new portals/teleporters, as this is done automatically.
The land of Minecraft as it was 4 billion years ago... a rocky, primordial landscape coated in basalt and blackstone...
The waters are a green soup of amino acids, in which can be found the earliest beginnings of Minecraft life - the Slime Block (it even has a nucleus like it's a single-celled organism!). Accordingly, no other 'life' can be found here.
Because the formation of the world is 'incomplete' (and nothing has been pillaged by generations of greedy miners yet), ores are much more common and occur in larger patches in The Past.
If you search the rugged igneous mountain ranges, you might come across a rare Alien Vestige left behind millions of years earlier by a visiting advanced species...
Inside Alien Vestiges, you'll find a portal that leads to Lumia, the Builders' homeworld - the place these aliens came from.... More on this below.
To go back to The End of Time, go back to 'ground level' at (X,Z)=(0,0) to find the indestructible portal:
The great Cities of The Future (over)populate the machine-flattened stone landscape, while possessing a beauty all their own....
Many various buildings and structures generate in these Cities, with helpful color-coding for the locals: red indicates residential; blue, commercial; green, agricultural; and gray, utility.
Because so many years have passed since the discovery of Netherite Blocks deep underground, there aren't many left (meaning you'll need to dig pretty deep to find them). All other forms of ore have been totally exhausted.
Any mining for Netherite calls for traversing the beautiful, totally-flooded Subterranean Caverns underneath the Cities, however....
As well, in these abyssal depths, you'll also rarely find an Underwater Reactor. If the Netherite down here weren't enough incentive to bring some pickaxes when you visit, I can promise that the Reactors will be....
And one can also approach the beacon in Lunar Launch Pads found in some Cities to go to Luna (the Moon).... More on this below.
To go back to The End of Time, go back to (X,Z)=(0,0) at Y=120 (just below the city surface) to find the indestructible portal:
But wait, there's more...
You can also access two further dimensions from The Past & The Future...
And without further ado...
With a ground surface covered with Mycelium and fungus-related things all over the place, this beautiful planet really stands out. Inspired somewhat by Zerus (the Zerg Homeworld), it conveys the notion that the Builders were biological in all things (like the Zerg).
They left no structures behind (as they've long since decomposed), and there is no stone of any kind in the dimension - patches of hyphae are about the most solid material available here, with coarse dirt going all the way down to the bedrock. The exception of course is the single block of Crying Obsidian that forms the base core of the Shroomlight Root Tendrils found in in the flats.
You'll always arrive in Lumia beside an indestructible return portal at Mycelium-level at (X,Z)=(0,0); entering it will return you to the Alien Vestige in The Past that you arrived from*.
*This seems to be finnicky - it seems to take you to the (0,0) return portal instead of the last Vestige for some reason; this mechanic works flawlessly in the Present & Future, but I'm unable to determine why it's misbehaving here.
Luna has been designed to mimic the effects of our Moon - this means low-G throughout the dimension as well as rapid and heavy exposure damage to those caught outside on the surface. Holding a Star of the Void in either hand provides protection from exposure damage, allowing travel across the Lunar surface; some structures on Luna use a white force field as a door (visually explaining protection from exposure when there is no door).
Just below the surface, there are expansive caverns to explore, and you'll find some stalactites of Ancient Debris down there. That being said, most of the composition of the dimension is Bedrock beneath the Lunar surface layer, essentially rendering mining impossible. In fact, as a result, the only way to access this part of the dimension is through Lunar Base structures (small Lunar surface cities) that extend downward into the subterrane.
You'll find an indestructible dome-shaped Lunar Home Base structure at (X,Z)=(0,0) as depicted above. Inside, there is a Lunar Launch Pad similar to those in The Future - stepping on the Beacon here will return you to the Lunar Launch Pad in The Future that brought you to Luna.
In Conclusion...
I've drawn both inspiration and technique from each of my previous data packs to put this one together.
From all components of world generation, to custom structures, to custom functions and predicates; from invisible tagged armor stands to fake players with dummy scores; from custom recipes to ridiculous 960x portal textures; and, of course, structures indestructible in any game mode....
This one really took quite a bit of time and testing. I hope you enjoy!

Changes to Vanilla
•Nether Star has been renamed Star of the Void and been given an additional use
•Prismarine Shard has been effectively removed. Specifically, it:
•is no longer dropped by Guardians & Elder Guardians
•is replaced by Prismarine Crystal in recipes for Prismarine, Dark Prismarine, & Prismarine Bricks
•is replaced by Glowstone Dust in the recipe for Sea Lantern

Visiting the Moon & the Builders' Homeworld
While in The Past, you can find a portal to Lumia (the Builders' Homeworld) inside a rare Alien Vestige. Traversing the portal takes you to a wonderful place that words just can't do justice.... You'll always arrive at ground level near (X,Z)=(0,0) with an indestructible return portal beside you.
While in The Future, you can step onto the beacon embedded in the floor of Lunar Launch Pads you might find in Cities. This will transport you to the Moon! You'll arrive on the Lunar surface inside an indestructible dome structure with a similar launch pad for return.
See the below spoilers for more info on these two dimensions.

I also intentionally didn't disable the End Gateway block beams, so that you can spot them while you're looking around the city.
If you were being literal about just locating rather than tp'ing right to them, then just ensure you target select by entities with
tag=future_beacon
