This data pack removes any Mending enchantments on books and items the player picks up.

I recommend you use this data pack alongside my Anvil Mending data pack so you can always repair your enchanted items, without any increased cost in experience, using an anvil and the relevant repair material item.

Thanks for this, I always thought Mending was extremely overpowered, and this works well for harder survival.
EDIT: Doesn't seem to work all the time though, there's still Mending armor in End Cities and the Mending enchantment still stays even when you put the armor on.

I'm wearing a mending chestplate that's damaged slightly, but the XP from the Shulker repairs it.

This data pack doesn't stop mending from working, it swaps mending out for unbreaking 3 on enchanted books, tools, and armor when you acquire them, or when they move around in your inventory.

Is there any chance to allow Mending for specific items only? I am thinking about Gold Tools and Armor specifically to give them some utility (e.g. Looting Swords, Fortune Picks).

The method of item detection that this pack uses is not dynamic, so no. A more dynamic method would also be slower, and I'm not really willing to sacrifice efficiency for customisation.

Can you also post the 1.14X version? Sorry, I lost the older version because I got it mixed with the new version (they have same file name), and went to copy paste it into my old world and saw it didn't work upon loading.
