How abooout...

My Bride is a Mermaid (26 Episodes)

.hack// Series (There are 6 seperate series, and they are all pretty short. Well, other than the original series, .hack//SIGN)

Sekirei (1st season is great, but 2nd goes downhill a bit, and is English Subbed only :/)

Thats all I can think about as of now, so maybe check those out

EDIT: Ooh, and Last Exile!

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, it has 64 episode but it is simply amazing!
Sword Art Online is also a very good option, 25 episodes if I'm not mistaken.
Accel World is a bit weird but fun to watch, it has like 26 episodes.
Elfenlied is also quite good and very short, only 13 episodes.

Back when I was into anime, Mushishi was one of my favorites. It has around 20 episodes, each one self-contained, so you can watch any number of them in any order. It's a little bit like a supernatural version of House MD taking place in a pretty, Ghibli-esque world. Most people who have seen it seem to like it, but not that many have.
