I can't join any servers ever since I upgraded to 1.9 !
I am making new post, because this is NOT the same problem as people have described in other posts, I found.
OK, so here's my problem. Everything was fine at 1.8.9 . Then the server I play on, upgraded to 1.9 , and when I upgraded too, I was unable to join it, because it would appear offline for me. The server is not offline, since I can see people playing in it on the Dynmap. If I downgrade to 1.8.9 , it shows the server online, but it says I need 1.9 to play. When I upgrade, server is offline. I tried changing the DNS to IP and back to DNS , reinstalled minecraft, restarted my pc, router, everything there is to restart. I have port forwarding enabled. Noone else but me seems to be having that problem, joining the server. I tried joining other 1.9 servers, and I can't aswell. When I connect, it connects forever and then I get
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information
My latest.log (As of 1.9, trying to log on the server I play in):
My latest.log (When I downgrade to 1.8.9 / Showing me the server ONline, but giving me error, that I am not using the correct minecraft version for the server):
My latest 1.8.7 is same as 1.8.9.
Please help me! Thank you!

P.S. all other players have no problems logging on the server. I'm the only one experiencing the issue.

try putting is a bigger server that definitely is on 1.9 and see what happens. Can you post some screenshots so people are less confused?

I tried all those stuff that are on youtube:
1) Setting DNS server
2) Port forwarding
3) Firewall exception (it's even completely turned off)
4) Updating java, and reinstalling it couple times
5) Reinstalling Minecraft couple times
6) Restarting my PC many many times
7) I don't even remember anymore.

Better remove the session id, before the stealers come!

Thx! Did it!
As for the server, I tried setting up my own server to see if I'll be able to connect, but when I connect to it it says "Authentication servers are down blabla" . BUT I am able to see MotD, version and everything in Multiplayer menu unlike other servers. Any ideas?

Its because the hosts haven't updated the servers to 1.9 yet, go on the home login and select edit profile then, go on versions and change it to 1.8, this happens many times
1
Zzz are you not reading what I'm saying? The server is Updated, it says it "Now 1.9" . And when I update to 1.9 it just says cannot connect to server .. And yes I restarted everything possible, like routers, reinstalling minecraft, reinstall java, restarted laptop many many times. Any other ideas? Pls help
1
In my case the numeric ips "work", but it gives me the authentication server error. THis happens only in 1.9 and the server I'm trying to connect is in 1.9!
1
The servers aren't updated to 1.9. You need to wait before the owners of the server have updated it (this could take some time). and for Lan worlds, the player who made the Lan world has to be the same version as you and for the firewall, certain settings have to be turned of.
1
Well, either open minecraft and don't hit play but instead hit "edit profile" and select 1.8.9, or wait until the person you try to lan with is also 1.9, or the server you want to join updates.
1
I am having the same problem. can't join servers, can't join LAN...
1
I got same problem but for me it says "Unknown host"
