I appreciate everyones advice and will keep it in mind in the future. thank you. the basement is supposed to be a little more simplistic due to the extreme nature of what I have designed for the main floor. wait till you see that mess

I try to add more detail to the smaller parts of my builds. I try not to go over the top with the decorations, but I still add those tiny details that make the area look better. What I would recommend to you though, is to add more contrast to your build. I do like to use grays in my builds, just not in excessive amounts. I made this floor design a few months ago and Im still using it in a few survival servers I frequent, you can take a look at it here


But this is just my opinion.
My best advice is to ask around and experiment with different styles. If you have access to that world, download it and experiment with it in a single player creative world. More options to choose from.
But dont just listen to me, take notice of what other people build and their own respective styles.
