We are Team SteamFront a team of builder, developer and creative artists and we are currently working on a huge server project called "Age of Storms".

Since it is a really big project we are looking for new people to help us working on this server.
The server is going to be a fantasy-based MMORPG server with focus on immersion and lore. The world is open so the player can do whatever they want in whichever order they want, as a team with others, or alone.

All mechanics are built in-house and custom, that is no plugins, so your input will decide the direction of how these will be built. We are using Denizen, a scripting plugin to create all mechanics and interactions. You don't have to know Denizen to be a developer, but a willingness to learn and have a great problem-solving attitude is appreciated.

Here is a list of needs:

Co-Owner:
This person(s) will be along side me making high level decisions and developing the lore and vision of the game. They, like me, will have their hands into every aspect of the game, from designing and developing and marketing, or whichever skillset they desire. We will listen to the rest of the team and help them problem solve to make this the best-in-class rpg experience for our players.

Designers:
This person will think about lore and mechanics; structure and gameplay, and how everything works together. Designing spells, skills, dungeons and quests.

Developers: The engineers of the mechanics of Age of Storms. We develop mostly in Denizen. I have been making the core mechanics and everything is custom. You don't have to know Denizen, but be willing to learn.

Writers: Writers will add to, and polish the Lore of the game and come up with compelling narratives and scripts for the NPCs.

Builders:
This team will build the actual buildings, paths, dungeons, terraforms in the game.

Artists:
This team comes up with out of game art for the website, and/or skins for NPCs, custom models for the Build Team to use, etc.

Admins:
We need people to keep the server running smooth, updates rolling and hardware/software bug free.

Player Experience:
We need people to keep general game play flowing and player experience fun and snag-free.

Moderators:
People to make sure players stay out of trouble.

Lead Tester: Someone to coordinate testers and make sure tests get back to the dev team in an organized fashion and re-tested.

Testers: Players that can report bugs and test specific mechanics and in context to the larger overarching goal of the game.

Here is a short list with some of the server features:


As noted, I am building all mechanics from scratch, using Denizen. This provides complete control and customization, where all mechanics of the game can communicate with each other to provide an even better RPG immersive world.
Some examples of features that are almost complete:

:: Attributes (STR, INT, DEX) - upgraded with points given for quests, dungeon raids, etc. Each contributes to different skills in the game

:: Race system - Unique Deluvian races, and classic beloved races such as elves and dwarves. Each race can upgrade up (e.g. ages) and gains new abilities/buffs

:: Class system - Choose a profession to gain access to hundreds of skills, most of which can be upgraded, for each class.

:: Natural skill gains - Gain in skills such as mining, lumberjacking, blacksmithy, combat proficiency and much more, just by using the skill. As the skill levels up, you can access rarer ores/wood, and unlock special abilities associated with each natural skill

:: Customized combat system - The vanilla combat system and weapons are still there, but added on is RPG-style amendments, such as swing speed, accuracy, dodge, and leveling up combat proficiency, and much more.

:: Customized weapons - weapons and items have tons of properties to make them unique and powerful. Some of have magical properties that can be found as treasure, or crafted and imbued with gems or etched runic glyphs.

:: Customized crafting - Vanilla crafting is still there for the classic players, but layered on top is crafting using custom ores and wood, and imbuing with special magical items and gems. Repair or upgrade existing items to be more powerful. With all permutations, there are hundreds of thousands of weapons.

:: Custom monsters - Classic rpg beasts and fauna and some invented with my imagination. These monsters will have their own stats and behaviors.

:: Magic - The arcane arts, being near and dear to my heart, is given much thought and depth. There will be thousands of magical spells and they are segmented out by the circles of knowledge and elemental powers of Deluvia.

:: Customized textures/GUIs/HUDs - I will show images of these soon, but we have dozens of GUIs for different mechanics in the game. An example of a custom HUD is the custom mana bar which gains with your "Mana Regeneration" stat and depletes as you cast spells.

:: Claim a plot which is protected from building except by you
:: Claim additional, adjacent plots based on your Stronghold's power.
:: Toggle pvp for your plots
:: /home is your first plot, which you can teleport at any time (future update will be to move your home plot)
:: Add members to your Stronghold. View a list of members and manage them from that list (future updates will be giving them roles and permissions)
:: Purchase structures for your plots (e.g. stable, blacksmith shop, armory, market) which add to your Strongholds power and give functionality.
:: Attract villagers to your Stronghold and keep them happy to gain more power. Above said structures aid in this.

Many gameplay areas have been built that are themed to the Lore that parties and lone players can navigate, solve puzzles and fight baddies, but much much more needs to be added.
