Herobrine... really internet?

Am I the only one who finds it funny that people actually think herobrine is real? It's obviously fake, but people still believe in the numerous amounts of countless sightings on YouTube and other online platforms. All herobrine sightings on YouTube are fake, and have been exposed. A lot of people say that they have encountered things like herobrine, Entity 303, null, and any other fake myth, and the reasons for that are listed below.
1. They randomly get hurt and assume it's herobrine. There are times in earlier versions of minecraft where a player's current location gets glitched into some blocks, and randomly lose hearts.
2. Someone was trolling them. Especially on console editions, people like to mess around with kids and others making them think herobrine is in their world.
3. They want to look brave, or among the cool. They just want to tell everyone that they saw herobrine, or something like that.
4. They want to cause a hoax or a huge discussion to have a lot of attention pointed towards them.
(The next one is pretty rare.)
5. They want people to be scared of minecraft, or even sometimes want them to quit.
6. They saw something in their world, like a random cross carved in the ground, (which btw could randomly generate.) or two netherack with fire on top, (rare generating in the nether) and assume it's herobrine.
I can't really think of any other reasons, although i'm sure there are some more. Herobrine is fake, even the creator of the game and current companies owning the game said so themselves. He isn't in the code and the easter eggs of herobrine in various locations are just for fun. to you if you already knew herobrine isn't real beforehand!

Yes, it's quite annoying how so many people believe he is real. However, I do have kind of a funny story.
When I first started playing Minecraft, I was on pocket edition because I didn't have enough money for the PC version at the time, and it was about 2011 around Halloween. Maybe a week before the 31st. So, this was in the days when the pocket edition worlds were limited. Anyway, I created a world then started building a house in this cliff-side. It wasn't very big; maybe only 7x10 blocks. After about 5 minutes of mining, because I was dumb back then and used a wooden pick, I went to get some wood for about three minutes, and when I came back my house was destroyed. Also, two of my friends were watching me play because we were carpooling, and they were like "Oh my God. That was Herobrine. You have to build a treehouse because he can't find you there." Then I was like "No way. If that was real, then I want to explore and find him."
Anyway, I still have no idea what actually caused my house to break to this day. It wasn't a multiplayer world, so it wasn't another player. Maybe it was a creeper and my sound was off so I didn't hear it, but I still don't remember taking any damage. Or perhaps it was just a joke by Mojang for Halloween. I don't know. But now I realize that it wasn't actually Herobrine, since he isn't real. And I know for sure, if he was real, he could find you in a treehouse. Lol.
But yeah. That's my Herobrine story.

Hey im gonna be ok and probally break my haunt (again) of herobrine if mojang/ microsoft stops posting those herobrine removed thing if next version they dont have it probally im going back to playing singleplayer only it just creepy easter eggs it haunts people forever i almost broke my fear only i was playing mods and i heard something walk if they stop doing those haunts probally i break my fear only until mojang/ microsoft stop doing it im just gonna believe herobrine a little bit real another part of me says his fake only it just creepy and the legends of 3:00 am maked it worst i just want to break my fear actually

In 1.11.2 changelog "-Herobrine Removed" was removed.

2. Mojang has never implemented Herobrine into the game, so you probably got scared of a chicken.
