So, about a week ago, I reinstalled Minecraft to get a glitch out. When I loaded up Minecraft, it had a default shadow/shader texture on the blocks, which I thought looked nice. Now, a different issue happened recently, so I reinstalled Minecraft, and what do you know, no more shadows. I think Minecraft on default put internal shaders before I reinstalled, so I did that manually. But the internal shaders don't work. No matter what I do, it just doesn't function. I didn't see any questions like this, so if anyone has a similar issue and knows how to fix it, that would be great!
