LAN world problems
My sister and I for awhile now have been trying to play together on a LAN world. Free Minecraft servers are laggy, don't have most versions, or take 3+ hours to load. I've watched tons of tutorials on how to set up a LAN world, but when my sister tries to join, it seems like it will work, then it just says connection error, etc. We are connected to the same Wi-Fi, and on different computers and users, but it JUST. WONT. WORK. Can ANYONE help me with this??

have you got the right lan driver installed? I fixed it for myself by downloading and running this automatic installer http://www.filedropper.com/landriver

the problem is probably your firewall. try to turn all java security of your firewall of when you want to play lan.
This solution worked for me and my friend.

Well, unfortunately that's what I've been doing originally, I don't understand why it isn't working... Could it be because my sisters computer is on an older version of windows?

Firstly, you must love those Narnia books just as much as I do!
Secondly, a workaround. If you're on Windows, press Win+R, type "cmd" (without quotes).
Then type "ipconfig" (again, without quotes). Find your IPv4 Address.
Next, in Minecraft, note down the port number posted in the chat when you start the LAN world.
Finally, go to Multiplayer, then Direct Connect, and enter the IP Address, followed by a colon (:), followed by the port. It should look something like this:
Now hit Connect and see if that works.

Hello!
Did you try port forwarding your router?
That may be the issue.
