Greetings, I have run into a problem after installing vanilla minecraft on a recently-built computer. The game files are installed and the game starts normally up until I generate a world or load it. This also applies whenever I try to join a server which gives the error:
"Failed to join server: java.lang.nullpointerexception group".

I am running minecraft 1.8 on windows 7 with intel hd graphics 4600 (I'm planning to buy a video card later but this integrated graphics card is more than enough to run minecraft).

I have already tried the following:
-Running in different compatibility mode (Windows 7 did nothing)
-Deleting/re-installing Java
-Deleting .minecraft and letting minecraft install again

Here is the crash report:---- Minecraft Crash Report ----
// Oops.

It's called a stacktrace for a reason.

I think it's a problem with the coding itself. Did you send the report to Mojang?

Go to your installed programs and ensure that you only have ONE (the most recent) version of Java installed. Also how much RAM do you have installed on your computer? EDIT: Read through the report closer.

Try disabling (TEMPORARILY) any antivirus software you may have installed.
