hi.

i'm building an arena in the server A & A Oasis, owned and operated by Aaronalation. it is a 24/7 survival - freebuild server.

the arena is for five different sports for team or singles events, a kind of olympics, if you will. they are designed to test cooperative effort, timing, logic, patience, and, of course, bad assery. you can see it here.

it's about three quarters of the way done. upvote it, that will make me happy.

but that's not what i'm here for, what i'm here for is testing. the first thing i will do is outline the games and their rules. the second will be to pay attention to whatever anyone says about it, good or bad, constructive or retarded, so that i can get a feel for changes that might need to be made. so, for your eyeballing pleasure, below are the separate games and their rules. i'm no good at this kind of stuff, i'll warn you, so bear with me.

one last thing, if you're good at arranging tournaments and team events, etc... i could use some suggestions for making the individual event scores all tie together.

arrows:
arrows is played on an archery field. there are three rounds in the game. the object is to land an arrow as close to the yellow target as possible. each round, players or teams take turns between shots. the player or team with the highest score wins. in the event of a tie, a sudden death round is played.
yellow: 3
red: 2
cyan: 1
black: 0
in round one, players or teams stand behind the white shooting line in their color zone across from the circular targets. players move between the fence posts to make their shot at either downfield target. each player is allowed on shot per turn. in team games, it goes A1 - B1 - A2 - B2 (up to D2) in that order. a spotter stands in the gray zone to tally scores as they land.
in round two, players or teams stand behind the white shooting line in the gray color zone across from the tall targets. only a shooter may stand in the color zone, other players and team members must stand in their own color zone until shooting. each player is allowed as many shots as can be fired in a thirty second period and must shoot between the two across field targets. they may start with either of the two. they may not shoot more than sixty four arrows in one thirty second period. in team games, it follows the A - B pattern. score is tallied by the number of arrows landed and where. a spotter stands in the downfield green to tally scores as they land.
in round three, players or teams stand behind the shooting post at the corner of the gray zone. only a shooter may stand at the post, other players and team members must stand in their own color zone until shooting. this is a best of six round, the player is given six arrows and fires at all six targets from the post. shooter turns follow the same A - B pattern, each shooter firing six arrows to end their turn. a spotter stands behind the shooter in the gray zone to tally scores as they land.
the winner of these games is the player or team with the highest overall score.

racers
racers is played on a race track in the ceremony bowl / racers stadium. the object is to be the first player or team to cross the finish line after the set amount of laps. it is a three round event. there are two version: singles and relay. in the event of a tie, those players or teams tied race again.
singles racing is a three round event for two singles racers. when the spotter calls go the racers, staying within their white lines, race down the track. at the red flags, players must switch to the inner or outer lane depending on their starting position. the winner of round one will race the winner of round two in the third round.
doubles racing is a three round relay event for two teams. before the spotter calls go, a block of colored wool is placed on the starting post for each team. when the caller announces go, the racers must destroy their block, collect it, race around, and return the block to the post for the next team member to break and return. team members who are not currently racer or next in line to race must stand on the white lane line to the left of their lane. team membets next in line to race must stand behind the checkered starting / finish line. the winner of round one races the winner of round two.

splash
splash is played in a five sectioned water stadium. there are two events with different objects. the first event is a water lane race. the second event is a boat warfare game. there are two sets of rules for the lane races, singles and team.
in event one, swimmers stand on their colored diving zone. when the spotter calls go, the swimmers break the colored block on their starting post and jump into the water. once out of the water on the other end of the lane the swimmer must place the colored block on the finishing post. the faster player wins. in team races, it is a relay. the first swimmer stands closest to the starting block with the third swimmer beside them. the second swimmer stands across from the starting post and the fourth swimmer behind them on the color zone. swimmers must break their block, swim across, come out of the water and place the block before the next swimmer can enter the water. the faster team wins. the winners of each race then race on another while still in their lanes.
in event two, players or teams stand in their color zones above their chest. each player withdraws a boat. when the spotter calls go, players place their boats in the water and attempt to sink the boats of the other players or teams by striking the boat. the last remaining player or team wins that event.

spleef
spleef is a played on the spleef board. it is a moderately small board that allows for up to four players or teams to play. many people are familiar with the goal of spleef, this version is no different. players attempt to knock other players into the p.o.d. below by removing blocks from the floor.
in this event, players or teams wait in their color zones in the corners until a spotter calls go. they then rush out and attempt to knock other players to the level below. the last player or team still on the upper level is the winner.

sticks & stones
sticks and stones is played on the sticks and stones checkerboard. players or teams attempt to trap others into moveless positions. one player or team is the "sticks" team and is given and axe. one player or team is the "stones" team and they are given a pickaxe. sticks moves first and move from their starting square to any one adjacent square in a cardinal direction. they may not move diagonally. after moving, the player destroys one square from the board, wood if the player is sticks and cobble if the player is stones. when a player or team is unable to move to a block because of space, they lose. a player may not occupy the same space as any other. a player may not destroy a square under another player. after destroying a block a player ends their turn. turns alternate between players, if there are teams, they alternate A1 - B1 - A2 - B2. there are up to three rounds in this event.

in team s&s, the teams are split between the small board zones. two teams play one another A1 vs. B1 and A2 vs. B2 simultaneously on two different boards. no two players of the same team may represent sticks or stones at the same time. in the event that one team member wins and one team member loses, the winners of each play one another. the overall winner advances the team to the large board. in the event of three or more players, the teams elect their two players for play in this event. the winning teams play two vs. two on the large board.

in singles, the players are split between the small boards. the winners of the small matches advance to a final round on either the large or a small board per the spotter's decision.

k thanks bye
