Modding advice?

hello, im someone who is going to start modding in 2015 and i was wondering if anyone has some advice?

Make sure you have Java JDK installed:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
My favorite IDE to code Mods for minecraft is Eclipse:
https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/
Download forge to start modding:
http://files.minecraftforge.net/
Download whatever version of forge from the SRC download, I recommend 1.7.2 or higher.
Follow these steps to setup your forge workplace:
