How do YouTubers record their videos?

No this it not about the software but rather the technique they use. I was always wondering but never bothered to ask until now since my channel has reached 400 subs!
Do they record a 2-3 hours video footage and than cut the boring parts and parts where nothing happen or do they start/pause when something interesting is about to happen or what are your ideas? I want to get better, I need to get better and I think this would help me in that.

Yes I have nearly everything set to lets say MAX so the video quality is great and since I dislike 30 fps... ugh just looks so wrong since YouTube has made 60 fps videos available. I use Bandicam for my recordings which works just fine but if lowering the bit rate and fps at which I am recording will lower my file size than be it.
