Hello everyone.
Today, I was permanently banned from chat for breaking the epilepsy rule - I unknowingly put a link in chat to a funny website, little did I know, it had the potential to cause an epilepsy attack.
Don't get me wrong, I do NOT blame the moderator, nor is this a flame rant about them. They made the appropriate decision. I was banned from the chat by a moderator who I will not mention, because I don't want people to yell at them. They made the right decision in banning me, and they were only following the PMC rules, which I respect them for doing.
However, now that I do not have access to chat, I will not be able to interact with the community, or advertise my submissions. I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of on the verge of tears right now when I'm writing this. It's sad to have to say goodbye to all you amazing people, but it's what I feel as though I should do.
I'll still be active on the forums occasionally, and I may post a blog, but it would be infrequently, maybe once every 5 months, or maybe more. I'm honestly really sad right now, this is in no way what I want to do, but I have to do it. Hopefully things will get easier, but I really just don't know.

Send this to the moderator (or admin) who banned you and talk to them. Unless you have a lot of offenses then I am sure you will be pardoned for your actions.

Bad news guys. Turns out the ban isn't temporary. It'll stay permanent. I've spent three weeks thinking I was working out an unban, turns out not. Just false hope... I'm sorry guys.

I don't even use the chat. Didn't know it existed until a few weeks ago, to be honest. It's pretty irrational of you to quit PMC because of this.

It's not really like that, I've stopped playing the game, I'm not posting as much, and the community was the only thing that seriously kept me here, and now I can't talk to it, which is frustarating, but atleast my ban is now kinda temporary-ish sorta lolidkanymore this is confusing.

After getting insulted by moderators on the chat, the chat has become a rather hostile and awful place for me, to be honest. The moderators didn't even apologize either, there is no point in me going there anymore. PMC has become more hostile, for some reason. I remember the times when everyone was friendly...

If a moderator was hostile/insulting towards you, you should have reported it to someone of a higher rank so we could handle it instead of complaining about it publicly.
Please keep this thread on topic, everyone. This is supposed to be about OP retiring from the site, not about complaining or discussing the decision that was made or other decisions or bans on other accounts. If this kind of discussion continues, this thread will have to be locked.

Because of a VERY generous offer by Paril, my ban will only be temporary, but it will still last a few weeks. I will likely be posting again by July 10th-ish.

Well, I've personally never used the Chat before. It doesn't seem like a very nice place. I prefer to flip tables all over the forum. Try it out, you'll like it; you can be very active in a forum and get replies and discuss very well in this area. You don't have to be inactive; all the things you said you did, you can do even better in the forums.

Same here. I have tried the chat a few times and have just felt like the forums is a better place. (no-offense you chat users) Although I have met some nice people on chat (shout out to WorldEater and Saya_Kurosaki), I feel more at home on the forums.

True, but the chat has an instantaneous response system, you can talk to people in real time, and so much more funny things happen there, and it provides an overall sense of community.

If you were not aware that it could cause an epilepsy attack, are you entirely in the wrong? I understand why the did what they did, but you were not aware...

I was confused too, but I think it's best to respect their decision. It makes me sad that I can't be forgiven for my mistakes, but it's still my fault.

I understand why we should respect the decision, as an epilepsy attack can be very serious, but... you were not aware that it could cause such a thing to happen, you were just trying to share something funny with the community... Now I'm in the middle of this... great... now i dont have a side to be on...

I don't think there's really a side to choose, but if you insist, I think it best you join the side you deem most morally righteous.
