I know, I come here with all m freaking problems, and I have a lot. Yesterday, I was just working and playing o my PC just fine, and today, I turn it on to do Latin, and I get Windows Startup Repair Error. Now, I've tried to do everything, (yes even F8, but it seems to have failed as well.) It starts up fine, until I get past the BIOS screen thing. Then it says "Scanning Windows Files." I've done this eight times, and it has done nothing. Is there anything I can't do without replacing my boot drive (An SSD with everything else on it besides Diablo 3) or reinstalling Windows 7? I don't want to have to reinstall my Steam Games if I have to.

Alright, new problem.
So, I reinstalled and now it can only detect one of my monitors, and it cannot find the network adapter drivers, when I click to install them they do not install.
Should I reinstall windows 7 again?
Note: I am not switching to Windows 8 due to lack of funds and a touch screen.

No, you just need drivers now, you'll need a video driver, possibly a sound driver, network driver, and wouldn't hurt to get motherboard/chipset drivers.

If you give me your specs, i'll be glad to find the links for you.
Once you get these installed, it should be good as gold.

Also, you don't need a touch screen for 8/8.1 lol. But you already have 7, so no worries.

Did you change it to use both screens? Windows key + p should give you the option.

If you're using the ethernet, the adapters should be with the motherboard driver.

We figured out what happened: we accidentally installed Windows on an HDD AND and SSD, so it was switching. Then my HDD died, and it couldn't install. So, we had to reinstall windows, and so all my steam games are gone. Thank God for the Steam Cloud!

Do you have a repair disk? (If you made one.) I think Windows installation disks do the same thing. There should be a repair your computer option in there; it scans for corrupt files and replaces them with the ones on the disk which are in working order.

Still, make sure you backup before attempting anything.

And yes, I do have a working HDD, my Backup drive Crashed and so I can't just restore from a backup.
I will try that though. I am posting from my iPad right now.

Would I be able to keep my games if I did that?
Valkyria Chronicles took DAYS to reinstall.

Yes, if you move your files over to another drive that you will not be wiping, then yes you'll save your games, and then can move them back over after you reinstall Windows.

Note that this will take awhile to move lol

Of course if any games save their activation keys/other licensing information in the registry, you will need to reinstall them.

Assuming it's all on Steam, OP should just have to click "install" on steam, and then it'll find the game and activate it.

It is either a corrupted Windows, which means you'll have to reinstall it, or it's a bad hard drive, which I doubt.

Do you have another computer + hdd? You could (this is maybe a lot of work) install a lightweight Linux OS, and run it directly from a flash drive, and backup all your files you want on a partition or another drive, then wipe Windows and reinstall it.
