That is really interesting XD I thought they would of removed the animated pictures... or just stopped supporting the .gif so the profile pictures would have to be re uploaded in a different format. But wow...

according to /r/youtube gif profile pictures were a thing 2006 and before, any account made in 2006 and before who uploaded an gif profile picture still have one, in 2008 youutbe officially stopped allowing people from uploading gif images as profile pictures, but any account that had one they left
