The identity of the day is genderfluidity!

Simply put, someone who identifies as genderfluid does not identify themselves as having a fixed gender. These individuals can experience gender fluctuations over long periods of time, or very quickly.

The flag's colors represent all gender identities. The pink for femininity, blue for masculinity, purple for a mix of the two, black for lack of gender, and white for all genders.

Today's identity for the week is abrosexuality!

Someone who is abrosexual is a person who has a fluid orientation, which likely changes over time. The time frame doesn't matter, only the personal experience with the identity.

The green in the flag represents LGBTQ+ attraction and the pink represents the actual shift itself. The fade to white is the in between stage of attraction shifting.

    This week's prompt is "Fluidity"!
To set up the rest of the identities that will be talked about throughout the week, today's identity is genderflux.

Genderflux can be an identity on its own, or a catchall phrase for all people whose gender or intensity of identity changes overtime. This includes identities like genderfluid, which will be talked about on Thursday.

The flag's colors each represent different identities or umbrella terms for identities. The dark pink is women, light pink is demigirls, dark blue is men, and light blue is demiboys. Gray represents agender while yellow represents nonbinary identities.

Very early since I'll be busy later, but today's identity is apothisexual!

Similar to the last ace identity, this one feels a disconnect with physical intimacy due to repulsion. It stems from the root word "apothisan" which means repulsed, so these individuals find such activities to be disgusting or uncomfortable.

People are affected in different ways and some will avoid all acts altogether. However, this term should not be confused with "sex-negative" which is finding all physical intimacy immoral.

The color meanings from the ace flag are the same, but the trade for red in place of gray represents the negative feelings of disgust or uncomfortableness.

Today's identity for the prompt is aegosexual!

Aegosexual is a microlabel on the asexual spectrum that is used by people who feel a discoennect between themselves and physical excitement. The term is made of the prefix "a-" to refer to not, and "ego-" for the self. The literal meaning of the term would then mean "sexual without the self."

Aegoromantic is the equivalent for the aromantic spectrum.

The flag is made up of the colors from the asexual flag being on its spectrum. The meanings for the colors are taken from the asexual flag, with purple representing community, white representing allosexual allies and partners, gray being graysexuality and demisexuality, and the black being asexuality.

Today's identities connected to this week's prompt are demigenders!

Demigenders are defined as nonbinary identities that only feel a partial connection to a particular gender.

Many of these individuals fly their own specific flag, which will be mentioned below, but there's one overarching flag that is the base for many of those individual flags. The grays the gray areas and partial connections, as well as there being more genders than the two on the binary spectrum. The white stripe in the middle represents the nonbinary or agender identities themselves.

The different colors for each specific flag denotes what that person feels their partial connection to. For example, the blue in the demiboy flag represents manhood or masculinity, while the pink in the demigirl flag represents femininity or womanhood.

Pride Month has officially begun! Check out the event where you can find the weekly prompt list, the first of which is "Connection."

Later today I'll tell you about the identities in the LGBT acronym itself, and tomorrow will be the start of the wall posts for each identity attributed to the weekly prompts!

Update on the pride month event:

Due to many events starting and taking place during the month of June (skin fight, finals, etc), there will not be a daily prompt list.

However, there will be a weekly prompt in a blog post, with each prompt relating to different identities that will have their own wallposts during that week. With each wallpost, that identity's flag will be added to the group banner.

definitely showcase some underrepresented/not commonly seen flags (identities, orientations, etc) if you're able to.

I'm so sorry for how inactive this group has been! Unfortunately it may have to continue like that for the rest of the month, considering I have Covid and graduation, and I need to prep for Pride month.

However, if anyone would like to help, applications are open for a few different roles for the group! And anyone who would like to just be a member of the group for fun only has to let me know in the guest book on the group page. Below are the different roles that people can apply for, and the form can be found all the way at the bottom.

MODERATOR: People who will help run the group, such as taking care of member invite and roles. They will also make sure that all content complies with event and website rules, and can help allow/deny certain topics from being published. Members with this role must be trusted and active.

EVENT ORGANIZER: Fairly self-explanatory, these people will come up with events for various months, as well as supplementary content to go alongside events such as informative articles. Writers will have their own role to go based off topics thought of by organizers. This role has access to wallposts, collections, and content.

VFX CREATOR: This role is for anyone who wants to help out the other roles by making things like event/blog banners for them, and can even make profile art themed around each month. Anything made will have to be approved by the respective role, and anything for the group page will have to be approved by me first. This role has access to wallposts.

WRITER: This role will be for anyone who wants to help post any supplementary blogs/anything else written for the monthly events. They will take topics thought up by event organizers to write articles for, but can write content outside of those topics as well with approval from myself or submission moderators. This role has access to wallposts and content.

MEMBER: This role will have no responsibilities for the group aside from following the rules. They can join on events by posting their submissions here or on their own accounts. This role can only post content to the group, and only has to apply through the guest book.

Here is the form to apply for the roles for the group! Leave a comment if you have any questions!

    DAY 04: KIMONO

A traditional article of clothing from Japan that is featured lot in anime and Japanese pop culture. They are usually worn with an obi to keep them secure around the waist, and women tend to wear floral headpieces to go with the outfit overall.

Kimonos were originally worn widely as they were an easy outfit to wear in all types of weather. They could be layered up for when it was cold, and they were made out of a breathable fabric to make them good wear for the summer.

Later, the style and design of kimonos were integral to the social classes of Japan. Kimonos that used expensive dyes and fabrics were worn by those who were wealthy, and showed it by having the sleeves cover the hands to make it more difficult to use them. Ordinary working people wore kimonos that were more practical in design, by having straighter and less flowy fabric.

A traditional Filipino food that I always get from Filipino restaurants like Cabalen since I don't get them otherwise :].

    DAY 01: TIGER

Welcome to the start of the AAPI Heritage Celebration! The first prompt is "tiger" because 2022 is the Year of the Tiger. But what does that mean? What are the Chinese zodiac?

The Chinese zodiac consists of 12 animals that first appeared in the Zhan Guo period (5th century BC). They were officially identified during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 9 AD). The zodiac became a popular way to determine a person's birth year during the North Zhou Dynasty (557 - 581 AD) and is still very commonly ysed today. The zodiac is calculated by a cyce of 60 years in which each animal signifies a different year.

But what determined the order of the animals? The lunar calendar guided the sequence of the Chinese zodiac animals. This calendar can be traced back to the 14th century BC. Myths accredit Emperor Huangdi, the first Chinese emperor, in 2637 BC, to have invented the Chiense lunar calendar to follow the cycles of the moon.

The zodiac animals themselves were based on Chinese astrology, and were used to count years, months, days, and hours in the calendar, similar to horoscopes in the modern day. They were formed from the Celestial Stem and the Terrestrial Branch. Each of the 12 animals stands for a year in a 12 year cycle, a day in the 12 day cycle, and for every 2 hours in a 24 hour cycle. They were used to name each year along with the animal signs, but now the dates are mainly used for the years.
