While I am enjoying my current time with my friends and family in home office immensely, I have had this growing need of talking about my activities in minecraft because I realized there are still a lot of people around who would like to see my latest project completed and shared with the community.

As with many things that catch my interest and passion, Minecraft has been and still is a very on/off thing for me to play. I rarely stick to games for a very long time without a break, and I am currently playing a lot of other games with my growing group of friends from childhood, school, university or workplace. It's an amazing melting pot of goofballs and I can't go for a week without spending time with them.
Unfortunately, that also means that Minecraft has been put to the side and the project has been collecting dust. I feel like the updates are rushing past me with new and exciting ways of creating things in the game, and I want to try them all out to their full potential - but integrating this new content in a project of this scale would mean that there are new blocks in one spot and not the other - throwing off that sort of balance that I feel make my projects interesting.

I think that a complete overhaul would be the right thing to do... but that would mean undoing and redoing a lot of what is already there.

I don't know what to do with it, and I would hate to see it go unposted to PMC.

Hello, i have been building spaceships too lately. I have the same problem, the new updates has so many new blocks, but i still building in 1.12.2 for one simple reason; I use a lot McEdit for building, because it gives me so much control and posibilities to build, i can copy, move, paste, mirror, flip, etc. I can't even imagine building huge things without the posibility of moving big amounts of blocks that could be wrong or bad. Just want to tell you that building in older versions still a posibility and actually for making spaceships, the amount of new blocks of the new updates that are useful are not too big.

I'd personally stick with the old palette. Having all these new blocks incorporated is cool, and the process of finding new uses for the new blocks is probably quite fun. But if that results in having to redo the entire thing... It would just put me off from working on it at all. That's just my 2 cents. I'd say do whatever makes it more attractive to not lose motivation for your project.

    Cheers

I already have started over after losing the save file. I had to reconstruct the entire build based on my previous progress screenshots. It was a huge pain but back then I had the free time to go over every detail and redoing it gave me a chance to incorporate new things. Now there's a whole load of new blocks I can't even think of all the uses for. Feels like I would have to stick to an outdated combination of blocks or go over the entire build and to make proper use of them, likely taking so much time that yet another update rolls around

Personally I don't know if I would start over. Maybe look around and see if there certain repeated items that can be updated. Like if you can update the design of a gun all over the ship, for example.

Less to do such as house cleaning, being fit, and sketching for MC buildings. I’m getting less motivative doing these stuff during cold season, but it’s better than nothing.

    Not so fun fact:

Due to me being a complete idiot and using the same password for my email, twitch, and paypal, someone managed to donate 6500 EUR to random streamers with like 1-3 viewers over the course of two days. It took me a whole week to resolve that mess, mainly thanks to my email provider only offering support via some of the worst chat bots I've ever experienced.

Use two factor authenthication and strong diversified passwords, people. Don't be like me.

And I wouldn't have noticed had I not ordered something and paypal offered me to pay with the money on my paypal (I never keep any money there, I just use paypal as a middleman to take it off my bank account) because twitch automatically refunded some of that money

Sorry to hear that happened! Consider using a password manager such as KeePass. You only need to remember one master password to access your local database of passwords. I don't know any of my passwords that I use online. They are all unique randomly generated with mixed cases, special characters, #'s and 15-20 characters in length.

    Hello everyone.

I am indeed still around, and I appreciate that people are still waiting on the upcoming project. Here's what's happened since my last update ALMOST 8 MONTHS AGO:
    • I've graduated university and was given the opportunity to continue working for the same company as a java dev
    • I've been included in a global integration project after the company was bought up by a corporation
    • I've made some of the worst working experiences of my life since then - seriously, I have no idea how I'm even alive at this point.
    • I've applied for a new job, and got it!

Current situation here in Germany is pretty crazy, but we're all safe and healthy so far. Take care!

I'll throw them out. They're up for download on our university website and the scripts are reworked each year anyways. All my relevant notes, summaries and exam preparations are saved as onenote files and PDF on my google drive. I'll probably sell them to the juniors :P

What do you plan to do with them? Usually I leave my notes and books for my siblings for the future, but if they are no longer relevant, they go in recycling (not the trash).

When I first heard about this lecture
    "intercultural communication"

uuuuuugh that sounds so. damn. boring.
2 hours in and it's probably the most valuable thing someone ever shared with me. Whatever seemed "strange" about other people, especially foreigners, is now pretty understandable and I actually wish that we would share some of their special traits.

Hard to imagine it's been 3 years since I started studying. I'll be graduating in 4 weeks (a little later, but that's when the last exam will be) and it's been such a strange time. It passed so quickly, but it was long enough that it is basically all I know. Going to work, going to uni, studying at home. That's it.
It was three long years of hard work for the exams, but somehow I don't really feel like I truly got to know the other students and now it's already about to end. I've been stuck with the ones I dislike for too long but at the same time, feel like I will now leave the nice ones behind before ever really knowing how they're like.

These large builds take forever. When they're done, they're already old and don't incorporate the new additions to the game as well as they could
Smaller builds would be nice to try out something, see what works and make a nice little thing for everyone to use
I'd actually have a lot of fun trying something out and getting to finish the idea before it starts being boring
    > No Rossky, I don't like your latest build. It's smaller than the last. Do a proper ship!

I have no idea how it'll score. Probably badly.

But I'm so so glad it's finally over. I haven't felt this relieved in like... ever?
