History: Before the 7th Block Tower (formally TJ Tower) was built, there was a department store located on that corner. But in 1975 the building burnt down in a massive fire that kill 36 people. After the disaster the building was torn down and the site was sold to TJ Corp. for redevelopment. Construction of TJ Tower started in 1977 and the tower opened in 1979. The tower originally belonged to TJ Corp before they went bankrupt in 1986. In 1991 after the bankruptcy case was settled court the tower was bought by 7th Block Inc. to serve as there new headquarters.
