Imagine a massive, automated store that could sell everything, like Amazon... or Walmart. You would expect such a grandiose store to have an equally impressive interface. It would need to automatically add up the prices of everything you buy, display on a glorious 7 segment display, and count it down as you pay. Today, you might be right, because I have created such an interface.

The central part of this device is the revolutionary base 10 counting system. It bypasses the need for a binary decoder by storing the numbers as decimal integers using redstone signal strength! The hundreds place retains the ability to count to 15, meaning the maximum number the machine can understand is 1599.

Naturally, the most prominent feature is the 7 segment display, for which the decoder is loosely base on a design by codecrafted, poster here on Planet Minecraft. I had to rewire it almost entirely to fit where it needed to go, so it's mostly just the concept I used. Upon reaching 1000, part of the wall will retract, revealing a number 1 in the thousands place.

The item selection area is based on a Mumbo Jumbo video about making a shop using lecterns. This section could, of coarse, be replaced with a less impressive ordering system, but I don't know why anyone would want to do that. This part is tileable, so you can sell as many thing as you want. Once an order is placed, it would travel off to some sort of warehouse or dispensary, from which your items would be sent back. Items sold individually, such as armor or beacons, could be stocked in the store, but an entire lectern would need to be dedicated to such items.

It is important to make sure that the paper that carries the prices does not exceed the stocked supply so that people are not charged for items they don't receive. A note block will ring once for every order made. This may take up to 6 seconds. If it does not ring, the item must be out of stock.

Once an item has been ordered, the confirmation window will open. This window allows the customer to confirm or cancel their order. The confirmation window also has an armor stand with head on it 'cause I thought i'd be funny. The customer should only confirm once they have selected all the items they wish to buy, because confirming will switch the machine from shopping mode to payment mode.

Once in payment mode, you can no longer place orders, and the machine will start accepting diamonds. This machine is smart enough to accept both diamonds and diamond blocks and return all other items. It also returns any overpayment. Upon reaching 0, the machine will go back to shopping mode, and the customer would presumably receive their items.

Since this devise is merely the interface, it does not include the delivery of purchased items or the warehouse from whence they would come. The redstone kind of became a tangled jumble of wires, but they are all clearly color coded and explained, so It shouldn't be impossible to figure out how it works from the world download.

In conclusion, if you thought your shop was brilliant, mine is brilliant-er.
