Tosa (土佐^?) was a planned battleship of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Designed by Yuzuru Hiraga, she was envisioned as the lead ship of the Tosa class of two 39,900-long-ton (40,540 t) ships. The battleships would have been armed with ten 410 mm (16.1 in) guns and bring Japan closer to its goal of an "Eight-four" fleet (eight battleships and four battlecruisers). However, after the Washington Naval Conference and the signing of the Washington Naval Treaty, all work on the ship was halted. With the vessel required to be destroyed in accordance with the terms of the treaty, the incomplete Tosa was then subjected to various tests to gauge the effect of Japanese weaponry before being scuttled on 9 February 1925.

The version constructed in Minecraft represents Tosa's appearance when she was tugged out of harbour in 1922 to be taken to Kure in preparation of full-scale weapon tests.

Notes on construction: Built to scale. No interiors, I'm afraid. I have also refrained from using iron fences or cobblestone walls. I can't stand the texture of cobblestone in the default texture pack, and iron bars connect in ways I sometimes find inconvenient. I aim to stick to as few different types of blocks as possible when building, which makes it easier to change materials in MCedit for anyone may wish to change them after having downloaded this. The schematic also includes the tugs that tugged her out of harbour in 1922.

I did make a mistake regarding the tugs when I took the screenshots: I was working from the photograph and assumed that there were 2 tugs hidden behind the Tosa. In actuality, there was only one; the total number of tugs used on August 1st being 5,- 2 leading, 3 aside. I have updated the schematic to reflect it, but the screenshots still reflect the original version I made.
