Level 36 : Artisan Crafter

This is another recreation, which the structure itself is about 75% Complete, but the terrain is currently on hold whilst I figure out how to make it as realistic to the original. Also, the outer city walls are still being designed, since the original walls no longer exist, and there are only small portions of where the walls met the main castle fortifications. There are outlines of where the walls used to be, but nothing about height or tower/turret placements. The Castle was one of the first in Portugal built by the first King (Besides the Defence Tower which was built by the first King's Mother. She built the tower do defend a convent she had established nearby. Over time it was built up into a castle, then a fully walled-in city.

Hello! I am building the model of this castle by Aedes Ars, but I would like to include the living quarters which seem to be missing from the kit (it seems to model the ruins, not the original). It appears you have the living quarters in your minecraft model, cool! You mention finding the original in your comment, is it on-line somewhere? Thanks.

So the 'Original' Living Quarters have been somewhat open to architectural interpretation. But there is a site where some students and teachers have built 3D Models of the different possible stages of the castle. Make sure you reference it if you post it anywhere. Wish you Luck!! I'll DM it to you

Hello Alex, I am still working on the castle model, currently working on the central tower. I will try to attach a photo here. I opted for a simple slopped roof in the reconstructed living quarters as I feared anything more complex would be beyond my skill level. I just bought Minecraft as I wanted to download your castle and "walk around" in it, but there does not seem to be a download option here? Perhaps because it is not finished. Thanks For the Photo. The model seems to be going quite well. Obviously, the model uses one of many interpretations of the Living Quarters. The reason it is not available for download is that it is on a world that contains other builds I have not yet finished (This Castle itself is still unfinished as I do plan on adding scale accurate city walls based on archival plans and images). I can however within the next 4 days send you a personal link with an isolated version (flat world with only this Castle) where you can explore and experiment at your pleasure. Bearing in mind you need the Conquest Reforged Mod or else some blocks might disappear.

I would actually like to explore the design of your Model's Living Quarters. If you could send photos of the 4 sides that would be quite helpful for me to experiment another design. :)

I once visited this place years ago. I didn't think that it would be popular enough to ever be built in minecraft. Nice work!
