Hello,
as I'd like to attire more attention to my project, I've decided to publish some additional stuff (i.e. screenshots and descriptions) concerning the principal buildings and zones of my prievous submission.
The first one I've decided to present in more detailed way is Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta, or the Cathedral of st. Mary of the Assumption. It's the most important church in the republic and, as I suppose, the most impressive amongst the others depicted. Its final form is an effect of at least five different projects and alterations during the existence of the world.
My inspiration came from Siena and Orvieto catherdals (mostly form the first one, as You can observe similarities concerning the dome and the bell tower) and the materials used were to recall white, green and pink marble originally used in the cathedrals mentioned. The architectonic style it's meant to recall are late italian romanesque and early gothic (but it's good to remember that those styles are considerably different than in the rest of Europe).
The cathedral ls located between the Cervo district (home of rich craftsmen and merchants, where some of the government buildings are located) and the Popolo district (region of poorer folk), beside two squares. On the opposite side of the smaller one, You can observe the baptistery, made of the same materials and inspired on the one built in Parma.
If You'd like to see the whole project I advise to refer to my prievous submission, or to click the link indicated below.
The screens presented here have been made on Minecraft PE v.1.2.9. using Ovos Rustic Redemption and Alto Shader texture packs.
