Bloodbrok - April 3rd 2022

This is my take on the fantasy/medieval styles. I really enjoy movies like lord of the rings and games like dark souls and skyrim where theyre all set in a medieval atmosphere with a small sprinkle of fantasy.

Mansion: The mansion was originally not my design as i had no clue there was a build competition or a build team. I then proceeded with giving it an overgrown overhaul to make it look less bland. Ive never taken credits for the original mansion and have said that its just a template before redesigning it. I made some overgrown boulders on each side that fit well with the fantasy theme and made custom trees on both of them. After that i made 5 custom mushrooms on the roof to test out my placement and organic building skills. the lower windows were overhauled since they just looked very boring and i made a clock in the middle since the normal window looked kinda boring. after that i went ham with some leaves and just made it look more overgrown and give it more texture and more of a fantasy feel.

Statue: I knew i wanted a nether portal, but at the same time its hard to be creative with a nether portal. I decided to make a giant statue of myself in a knightly position holding a custom made sword with matching colours. I think that it turned out really badass and its probably the build i like the most even though its probably the most boring to everyone else.

Floating islands:
There are 4 floating islands in this build. Theres one with a small pond and a tree which was a prototype to see how it turned out. Next one was one with custom mushrooms to see if i actually had some skill for organic builds.
After this i was kinda stumped on what to put on the 3rd one so i asked Nachoes who told me to try building a fairy house. I found this really cute reference picture and im very happy with how it turned out. Never built anything like it before and i think it looks really cute.

For the last island nachoes told me to build a bee house but i couldnt really figure out a good design or get any honey so i gave up on that idea and decided to make a warp shrine. i used a cyan/green colour pallette for it and even though it isnt very detailed i think it turned out decent.

Bakery:
For the bakery i just made a very simple house shape and added a chimney and a marketstall to it. nothing special but it adds to the liveliness and coziness of the entire build.

Smithy:
For the smithy i used the same layout as the bakery but swapped the colour pallette to match the purpose better. i also added a smithing area on the backside to make it look functional.

Pit of death: I like adding evil elements to my build so this time i decided to add a pit of death. the reason i went for a pit of death was that i had already made a 180blocks deep hole for my sugarcane farm and kinda joked about it. for the pit of death i went for some darker blocks like the mycelium around the edge to make it look evil and separated from society. on the inside of the hole i made black to grey gradient on the walls and used some dripstone, lava cobwebs, redstone and heads to make it actually look like a pit of death.

Normal house: this house was mostly built just to test some design ideas i had but i decided to keep it since it turned out pretty cozy and fits nicely into the build. I used stripped warp logs and warped stairs on the roof to give it a nice stripe design. I also used deepslate brick fences on the walls to give it extra depth and detail. Other than that theres nothing too special about it.

Custom pond: I decided that i needed to fill up some space next to the house and i thought a pond with alot of vegetation would go nicely with the theme of the build. I used some moss blocks around the edge and made a tiny custom tree that hangs over the water. I also placed some fence posts in the water to get some lanterns to light it all up.

Large custom tree: I've never really made any custom trees so i decided now was a good time to test it out. i had some space to fill and started making the tree. I kinda went for a weeping willow-ish design on it and for my first ever custom tree i think it turned out pretty well.

Wheat field: Wheat fields in medieval builds always look good no matter what. I had to do some minor landscaping to make it look nicer but other than that its just a bunch of wheat with a path made of pathblocks and coarse dirt leading to it. I also added a small custom fence around the edge and made some cute little scarecrows. Nothing too crazy, just looks nice.
