The USS Enterprise, CVN-65, also known as " The big E", was the world's first nuclear powered aircraft carrier. Launched on the 24th of September, 1960, she was and still is the longest naval vessel ever built, and was powered by 8 Westinghouse A2W nuclear reactors which drove four shafts. She now currently resides at Newport News Shipyard being scraped.
