Basic Info
The FDT (Flat Deck Turret) is an adjustable trajectory TNT cannon with a low profile functional in vanilla but also compatible with the Movecraft Plugin's turret system. The low profile of the cannon makes it difficult to hit as shallow trajectory shots fired at it usually will slide right off the top as there is nothing that the projectiles can easily catch on. It however is more fragile and can easily break in the event that it does get hit and thus focuses on its ability to avoid getting damaged in the first place.
This gun is attached to a trigger mechanism called a Recycler which repeats the firing cycle immediately after a shot is fired when activated. The Recycler system also allows for arc adjustment even while the system is active giving it an advantage over other signal looping mechanisms. The steady and continuous rate of fire allows the captain to keep their eyes on the target while maintaining a quick rate of fire against it instead of looking down to press a button each time.
Note: Make sure when installing the gun that you do not block any of the places a piston needs to extend into.

The central timing mechanism for the gun is a pulse extender. How it works is that when the turret is powered by the Redstone torch tower underneath it, the propellant is dispensed. Upon powering the turret, the comparator clock is also locked preventing it from dispensing projectiles too early while a delayed signal is sent to the back of it. When the power turns off, the comparator clock is unlocked and the delayed signal stays on for a period of time turning the comparator clock on dispensing projectiles. A separate repeater train is sent to the pistons which control the arc of the gun. The pulse extender acts to determine when the piston will extend and when it will drop. The projectiles when dispensed will sit on top of the extended piston and drop when the piston retracts.
The point at which the projectiles are at while they fall as the piston retracts when the propellant explodes is what determines the arc/trajectory of the gun. The longer the pulse is given to the gun, the later the piston will drop and thus the higher the trajectory. The shorter the pulse is given to the gun, the lower the trajectory. Because the projectiles are in mid-air when the propellant explodes, the blast force from the propellant TNT is unhindered by anything and allows the gun to reach much longer ranges with less propellant than most guns that use slabs or other mounting blocks for their projectiles.
The central timing mechanism/pulse extender is outside of the gun and can be wired to multiple turrets to adjust the trajectory and fire multiple turrets at the same time with the same trajectory.
The Recycler works by mimicking the signal duration of a button press over and over in order to keep the pulse length sent to the gun consistent through the locking and unlocking of a repeater based on a secondary pulse extender within the system. It's tuned to start another cycle immediately after the first cycle has ended, allowing it to maintain a steady flow of firepower onto the target without risking the first cycle causing the second cycle to misfire due to an overlap.
Movecraft Compatibility
The turret is compatible with the Movecraft plugin and can be mounted on airships or as a stand-alone rotating turret if you wish to use it for base defense.

No plugins are required for the cannon to function as it is a purely Redstone device. However, the cannon can be used on Movecraft warships with their turret feature to allow it to face in different directions. Some servers that run Movecraft are ToTheEnd, Airship Pirates, and Strangelands.
