Wouldn't it be better if a guard was notified, via note blocks, that someone is there and whether or not to let them through. And being the genius you are, why not make a whirlpool punishment to that as well?

The world the contraption is built in is lovely, i wish i had something like this on my survival worlds :3 I think the way the tripwire was implemented was okay. I mean no effort made to hide the hooks which look slightly off just sitting there and it makes the wire easier to spot (as if it already isnt) but this does add more redstone capabilities in terms of boats triggering things whilest on the water and this project could be just the thing to show people that concept. But i do wish you had included a tutorial. Anyways this isn't like your usual builds though, in that it lacks and awe inspiring awesomeness created by how amazing the contraption is and how nobody else could have pulled it off. Good job though, dont ever stop posting up contraptions :3

I agree the redstone is basic (i made my own) but the idea of having the tripwire over the water merits a diamond.

Awesome map and great demonstration of the new feature! But the wiring's a little (or a lot) over complicated, all u needed was a simple T Flip-Flop for the gate but a saw a bunch of random gates mixed together. Still awesome map though.

The tripwire is almost as easy as using a switch or pressure plate. It's just a double piston gate with a different style of input, not that impressive.

This project is using the tripwire in the way it is supposed to be used. If he made something involving a bug in the tripwire, or some exploit, that hooked up to some sort of awesome, inconspicuous door, maybe I would give a diamond. But instead he made a freaking. piston. door. *Yawn* I remember when PG-5 didn't have a huge youtube fanbase, and actually made original, cool stuff rather than cheap junk to attract views... And for the record, I would have thought of it.

Actually, it is quite a simple use of the tripwire. It is being used exactly how it is meant to, people cross it and it powers on. Anyone with a bit of redstone skill would be able to do the tripwire portion of this project, but the door itself is quite well done. if you can explain to me why the use of the tripwire in this project is ingenious then please explain and I will be quiet.

your ignorance is bothersome. you do realise that this snapshot will most likely be the reality of the upcoming 1.3 update (in the next few weeks from what I hear)

so technically, this will only work for the rest of minecraft's days after 1.3 is released unless something from this contraption is removed from the game.

Though I don't say that this is EPIC, I just say that this mechanism is ok and is pg5 is giving us great ideas for us to make, which is useful for some things, such as the harbor entrance.

Couldn't you just wire both trip wires to one T-Flip flop, and directly connect it to the gate?
(Not trolling, just thinking of improvements)
Or don't tripwires work with pulses, I havn't had chance to get the snapshot yet.
