  Fate: Exploded Boiler and sunk in a V Split in 1902





  Launched in August 1873, She Ferries from Southampton England to Cherbourg France through the Strait of Gibraltar, Naples Italy then around to Bari Italy. she finishes her trip by heading to Bilbao Spain, then heads back to Southampton. She sails with twin gigante paddlewheels that are mounted to either side of her. She was designed by (FAKE LINE) and was built in Greenock Scottland. her keel was laid in 1872 in july, we was completed in October of 1873 and had her maiden voyage in that following December.


  she worked a quiet life with little to no major events but for three.
in 1878 she ran aground in the Strait. the event damaged her keel and she was pulled into a port in Spain for minor repairs so she can get home.
the repair had taken a couple of weeks before she was able to be reenter service. in Febuary of 1902 she struck a rock on the coast of Italy. which smashed her portside paddel wheel, it completely destroyed the wheel leaving her stranded for 2 days. when she was finally returned to a port in Italy, the (FAKE LINE) had decided to have her scrapped. they repaired the wheel enough for her to sail under her power. She was sent off the scrap yards in that September with a full crew and cabin as a goodbye. while passing through a storm off the coast of Germany, her boiler water levels got to low, then the boiler just kept getting hotter inside. The metal had warped and crack, causing the boiler to explode at 3:00 am. There was a chain reaction with coal dust and the other boilers.
  the reaction caused the coal dust to ignite, which put the whole room on fire. which whoever had survived the first explosion in the boiler room had burned alive from the coal dust. the heat generated from the now burning room and partly the bunker, caused the water to heat up more. which then one by one the boilers exploded. the explosions sent fire and dust out of the funnel. the steam left the pipes in an instant. which that shot out of the funnel along with a bunch of other metal fragments which on her upper decks. the final explosion ripped the keel in half and water rushed inside. the boiler shells fell out as she start to sink down from the center. the force ripped the hull even further apart crushing the upper decks and the Second Class Dinning room and galley and of course many many cabin rooms.
The first explosion rocked the Paddaton over to her port side. which the throw injured many and killed a several in the second class. when the ship ripped apart many more were killed. the boats were never able to be launched. She was rolling in the storm and the new angle from the ship breaking made it not possible. the rolling only added to the decimation of the hulls structural integrity. This made her split apart completely and she was sitting flat not on her keel. the stern went down first within 3 mins. the bow then went down in the next 10.
  she lays down in 300 feet of water. from a dive down from he surface, you can find her in two pieces the bow and stern being 1000 feet away form each other. her gigante paddle wheels remain mounted to her sides. one is only visible as the bow lays on its starboard side. the stern lays facing upside down.
