Hello!
Here is the hospice of the Holy Spirit which was located in Rouffach (Alsace, France)!
Around 1180, Guy de Montpellier founded the order of the Holy Spirit. The order spread rapidly, with hundreds of houses in Europe, including one in Rouffach. It was a private hospital where the disadvantaged of life were taken in and cared for by the sisters. This included the sick, abandoned children, beggars,...
Of this complex there is nothing left today, everything was destroyed or deeply restructured. I have reconstructed it thanks to the letters archives of the city which give a few clues about the complex: A small church with a small bell tower overlooking the market, in the street, a main building under which the Ohmbach, the stream, passed.
There was also a mill within the hospital which took advantage of the flow of the water to grind wheat. There was an inner courtyard and a white facade that faced the opposite street. This is what I based my reconstruction of the hospice on, of course in reality the complex was probably different...
But that we will probably never know! Because the church was completely destroyed during the French revolution... The main buildings were destroyed because of their dilapidation and the rest was much too much reworked to have any vestige still today. Fortunately the archives and minecraft exist!

C’était un hôpital privé où étaient recueillis et soignés les déshérités de la vie par des sœurs. Ce qui inclus les malades, enfants abandonnés, mendiants,...
De ce complexe il ne reste aujourd'hui plus rien, tout a été détruit ou profondément restructuré. Je l'ai reconstitué grâce aux lettres archives de la ville qui donnent quelques minces indices sur le complexe: Une petite église à petit clocheton donnait sur le marché, dans la rue, un bâtiment principal sous lequel passait l'Ohmbach, le ruisseau.
Il y avais aussi un moulin au sein de l'hôpital qui profitait du courant de l'eau pour moudre le blé. Il y avait une cour intérieur et une façade blanche qui donnait sur la rue à l'opposé. Voici sur quoi je me suis appuyé pour essayer de reconstitué cet hospice, bien sur dans la réalité le complexe était surement différent...
Mais ça on ne le saura surement jamais! Car l'église fut entièrement détruite durant la révolution Française... Les bâtiments principaux ont étés détruits en raison de leur vétusté et le reste fut beaucoup trop remanié pour avoir un quelconque vestige encore aujourd'hui. Heureusement que les archives et minecraft existent!
