An Update : 11/23/2012 8:52:20 am11/23/12

Hyrulecraft is currently reaching the end of stage 2. This means that I hope to have a "beta-map" up for release at, or before January 2013. This release map would contain every last complete aspect of Hyrulecraft, up to and including ALL dungeons and temples (with the exception of Jabu-Jabu of course.

When this update is complete, it will be available for download here, at planet minecraft, and is expected not to be updated for quite some time. Any and all questions about this map will NOT be answered, since all major and minor problems will likely be fixed at the time of the major server update. This major server update will contain all of the promised plans regarding the Hyrulecraft/Minecraft MMO-Project.

Hyrulecraft is hosted on a multiworld, while the rest of the server is public access. VIPs can have 1 week early access before everyone. Once Hyrulecraft Beta launches, then it will be open to the entire minecraft community.

Note: We have slots reserved for VIPs and sub slots for members. If you cannot login to the server because we are full, then you can register here to have a MUCH better shot of logging onto our server. We expect to have a high amount of traffic when that happens, so try and get it done before next Monday.

Boy, we have come a long way haven't we. What started as a simple project page a few months ago, has blown up into a viral hit across the gaming community. And I must say, we couldn't have done it without all of the fans who have been here from the start. I cannot thank you enough.

The server has 60 slots... and every time someone leaves, another NEW player fills that void. It's been going on like this all day, non-stop.

I didn't think much of it before, but after the recent surge of traffic to this page, I feel I need to remind everyone of my terms of use policy that's included in the "Read me first" text document included in the Hyrulecraft Alpha Map Package.

I would like to remind everyone that this map is for viewing purposes only. You may not use any of these areas for your private projects, servers, or videos without my permission. The only exception for server hosting is for small 2-3 person groups who wish to view the map ONLY. Do not host this map publicly, the Hyrulecraft team will have a server ready to explore the alpha map soon.

I know I promised you all a new map by now, but I've been busy with IRL things that had to be taken care of as a first priority. As a quick update, I am happy to announce that work on the trailer video and alpha release has begun. Look forward to seeing something from me soon.

The Alpha Update (Part 1) : 12/24/2011 3:28:55 am12/24/11

We're finally here! I want to thank everyone who has supported the project in the numerous ways possible. Whether you +1 a diamond, watched the live stream, subscribed to YouTube, or donated, this thank you comes from the bottom of my heart. The fans keep my hopes up on this project, and we are just getting started.

Part 1 of The Alpha Update is just a photo update. I've removed all of the old zone screenshots and replaced them with the most current versions I have. (With exception to Gerudo Fortress because the sandstone now looks hella weird in the latest texture pack update.)

The release date of the alpha map will be December 30th, 2011. Just in time for the new year!

I am also currently working on a massive video project for the Hyrulecraft Trailer. This trailer will feature a flyby through all of the completed zones, and feature a fan written music track especially for this project. This music will be incorporated into the rebirth of Hyrulecraft Weekly. Expect to see an update on the show page soon.

We're almost finished! ...with the map download!!!!

I have about 90% of the terrain complete of Hyrule Field, and about 75% of the connecting terrain finished on the Hyrulecraft Alpha map. I plan to release the new download before the new year, so make sure you add this project page to your favorites.

The Finale : 12/16/2011 4:22:37 pm12/16/11

After a 2 and a half hour live stream last thursday, all of the regions of Hyrule have been pieced together (with the exception of Lake Hylia). What does this mean for the project?

To sum it up nicely... WE'RE DONE!

I still need to complete some terrain shaping and other grunt work to polish the Alpha map before I publish it live. My current goal is to see a new download ready before Christmas, but it's still too soon to tell you the exact release date.

In other news: Work has begun on plugin development for the MMO-MA server version of Hyrulecraft. If you would like to develop these plugins with us, please send an email to [email protected] We need experienced people in the field of Java programming to help make this project work.

I apologize once again, I have no images, videos, or downloads to report on. They are coming soon, I promise, but there are much more important things for me to work on right now that these little updates can wait. Let me try and explain what's going on.

Me and Rigs put together yet another video featuring the tour of the completed Zora's Domain and the attached fountain. I am currently aware that Jabu-Jabu is not present in this build, and I have already addressed this issue to people who brought it up. He's just too damn hard to make, and it would not fit in with the plans I have for this zone.

Nothing much new to report. I added a fun picture showing everyone the notes I have jotted down in my free time. Me and Rigs haven't gotten around to making a new video yet, but I hope to take care of that soon. I want to have another video AND another dungeon pack available before this Friday's show. I've also been working on bringing on a guest minecrafter/live streamer for HCW.

I added another screenshot and changed a few others to reflect the current changes to the map. We are about a third of the way finished with the Gerudo Desert currently, with a good portion of it planned to be worked on this weekend during our live streams. Make sure you tune in this Friday at 8pm central time for Hyrulecraft Weekly. We might have a guest on the show, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Make sure you watch our youtube videos and don't forget to subscribe to receive regular updates. I also post to my twitter whenever I add another Update Log, or go live with Hyrulecraft.

Me and Rigs took some time last Saturday night to work on a new video. After some experimenting with fonts and video effects, he came up with a neat new introduction and conclusion for our next video update!

I've also added/changed a couple of screenshots to the gallery to reflect the changes we have made. Don't forget to watch Friday's episode of Hyrulecraft Weekly Live. We're doing a live build of Gerudo Valley, a zone that's been very very anticipated by myself, the crew, and the fans. (We also have something cool we've been working on for the people who show up early to the stream.) Hope to see you there!

So I was sitting in class today and I came up with an awesome idea...

...and after an hour of work on MCEdit, I finally have a map for people to download!

This is NOT a download of the server. This is dungeon pack 1: A collection of mini dungeon that me and Kevin have been working on. These dungeons are purely for looks currently, but I do want feedback on them.

Weekend Update : 10/23/2011 4:10:46 pm10/23/11

We've had somewhat of a slow weekend for streaming the show after a few setbacks, but the groundwork for Zora's Domain is in place and we're ready to begin polishing. I promise to have some screenshots ready later this week for viewing.

EDIT: I've taken down the bit about joining the team. It's nothing personal, except I haven't been impressed with people's commitment levels so far. Sorry.
