These Parliament buildings was based on the Assembly Buildings of the Presbyterian Church in Belfast, UK, which dates from 1905.
City Hall was built in 1907, in the 'Scottish Baronial' style. The twin towers were inspired by St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.
The city hall holds the Californian Parliament Rooms, and many offices and conference rooms.
Also of note is the Central Lobby, based on its London counterpart, and the Main Assembly
Room, which holds over 50 flags and can seat over 200. It also has several stained glass
windows and its own organ, possibly the largest in the city.
In 1985, part of the City Hall became a shopping mall, selling
expensive... stuff.
