The hulk is not one of the most famous ships of the medieval era. But nonetheless a very important ship type in the nothern europe. After the carvel construction also came to Northern Europe in the late medieval age, the construction of three-masted hulks was also possible. Pirates made life difficult for the Hanseatic League and so a larger and more powerful type of ship was needed. This made the hulk the successor to the cog.

The Holk "Kralstedt" is the flagship of the county of the same name in Reiksland. A special feature are the double combat decks at the bow and stern, which make this ship so strong in naval combat.
The "Kralstedt" is also part of a german medieval roleplay server.

Der Holk ist nicht der bekannteste Schiffstyp des Mittelalters. Nichtsdestotrotz ist er ein bedeutend wichtiger Schiffstyp in Nordeuropa gewesen. Nachdem die Kraweelbauweise im Spätmittelalter auch nach Nordeuropa kam, war auch die Konstruktion dreimastiger Holks möglich. Piraten machten es der Hanse schwer und so wurde ein größerer und schlagkräftigerer Schiffstyp benötigt. Dies machte den Holk zum Nachfolger der Kogge.



Der Holk "Kralstedt" ist das Flaggschiff der gleichnamigen Grafschaft in Reiksland. Die doppelten Kampfdecks an Bug und Heck machen dieses Schiff besonders im Seekampf äußerst effektiv.
Die "Kralstedt" ist ebenso Teil eines deutschen mittelalterlichen Rollenspielservers.
