1: Unless you have super amazing glowstone/torch placement, take your pictures during the day
2: Take your pictures using a nice texture pack; default doesn't usually look very good...
3: Did you put all the doors to each room in one hallway? That's the simplest, most efficient way to build a house, but also one of the least interesting.
4: From the pictures, I like your decorations, like the sea-side lounge and the blue umbrella over it. :)
