The residents of Mirthala once lived in Candelton, but they were expelled by the people of Groagoan.

Candelton was a big seaport which traded a lot and had its own growing economy. The main wealth came from the sea.They harvested seaweed and made beautiful products out of it which they could sell at great profit. The fishing grounds were very rich and varied, and were a great commercial product.  But the people of Candelton operated the reduction very carefully and unobtrusively. They didn't want anybody else to know about the richness of the sea, so they wouldn't have to defend their sea ground against anyone else. But the wealth of the city became so big that it attracted attention and so it came that the peaceful city was attacked. Because of missing defensive structures they had to surrender and leave their city so that they could save the lives of the few survivors. The sea plantation was the only place the aggressors didn't know, so the survivors flew to this hidden but rich place.They started to convert the plantation into a village where they could live in peace and without the fear of being attacked again.

Mirthala consists of several residences, some of which can be reached from the sea ground and others can only be entered by using swimming vehicles that were used for harvesting seaweed.

The houses are placed very close to the riff so they could find protection beneath the natural grown corals. The hub of the village is the old dismantling plant which was converted into the new village center were all the village activities take place.The center is located above the big seaweed plantation which supplies the population of Mirthala with rich food and everything else they need. Because of the great coral riff, the fish stock is immense and every inhabitant can catch as many fish as he/she wants to.

The life in Mirthala is a happy and peaceful one. It is characterized by fishing and the seaweed harvest. They don't have anything to worry about, but the young ones begin to dream about the previous lifes the people had in Candelton. They start to long for the old life their ancestors had and the wealth they had to leave behind...
