These are I think the most compact vertical flying machines. I am not sure if I am the first one to come up with these designs, as they are very simple, but I have not seen them before. The size of these designs is 1x2x7 (8 blocks for upwards design, 9 blocks for downwards design).

The thing is, I think I am pretty good with Redstone, but I suck with Slimeblocks ^^;
