This is a to scale recreation of a Martello tower. Martello's are one of my favorite British battlements. This one is specifically based off the prince of wales tower in my home town of Halifax. Halifax is a city on the east coast of Canada and one of the largest ice free harbours in the world. In the 1700's Halifax was one of Briton's most important ports in North America. The prince of wales tower and many other battlements were built to defend against French attack. This leads to a bit of an announcement, my next few projects for quite a while will be based off British battlements and forts of the late 1600's to the early 1800's.
