Will You brave the breach or will you slash down your would be foes as they try and scale your walls?
The Builders:A collaborative project being built by the award winning tewkesape and equally talented rednightdog.
About the Project:
Facing Castles is a PVP map which would be a standard “capture point” map with two castle’s facing each other. The map would borrow the concept from “The Walls” whereby players have a preparation time to build things.
However there would be a greater scale of start-up resources and, there will already be the starting structures. With larger teams this map has the central goal and purpose to produce large scale cooperation and scope for challenges to be implemented in the defence of the home castle and methods for bringing down one’s opponents. Project Notes & Objectives
Each should be a dominating part of the landscape.
They should have unique styles, presenting two opposing factions.
The castles should have “weak points” which teams will have to work out how to repair during preparation phase. Furthermore the castles should have more weak points than there is time to “repair” them all. I.e. forcing teams to prioritise.
Plugins
For testing purposes we will be using the UltimateArena plugin by dmulloy2 orange451 & GarretSidzaka
Currently looking for plugin developers to help with this project or, preferably, anyone who can help implement PVP modes in vanilla as we would prefer to make it easier for people to access and play the map without having to wait for us to update to the latest version of minecraft each time it updates :-)
Textures And Shaders:
We are using the DokuCraft texture pack: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/513093-16x32x64x15-dokucraft-the-saga-continues/
For the screenshots I have used Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/940974-147sonic-ethers-unbelievable-shaders-glsl-shaders-dynamic-shadows-more/
Video coming soon!

Sorry for the slow updates recently, the build was put on hiatus whilst I was involved with the Bebopvox Build Contest. Will post some screenshots of that shortly. We will be restarting work on this from Monday!
