"The Sagrada Familia is one of the most complex buildings that have ever existed and after more than 100 years since it was designed it has not been able to be finished"

I love this basilica! I'm an architecture student by the way and this is among the top of my list of places I wish to visit. Looks like you finished construction ahead of the real deal xD. I'm doing the same thing with one of my current projects (not on PMC) in which I'm completing the unfinished yet largest cathedral in the United States, where I'm from.

This building required more time for me than anyone else. But what a beautiful architecture. Did you see interior? The light shines from everywhere :D What is the unfished Cathedral in USA?

Yes I can imagine this took extra time, it's so intricate! And the interior is amazing! You went above and beyond to bring its glory to MC! The cathedral i mentioned earlier is the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. It looks strange with no towers or transcepts, but my project will give it much deserved love :D

I didn't know the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC and I like to know the story of any building. There's a story behind every building 😉

In the late 19th century, a huge contest was held for plans of the new cathedral, and when one was finalized, the cornerstone was layed in 1892. The crossing, sanctuary, and chapels radiating around it were built in the Byzantine-Romanesque style, but the original architect was dismissed in the early 20th century. The remainder of the cathedral was to be complete in the Neo-Gothic style, this includes the nave. Over a century later, and the 3 towers (one above the crossing and two on the west front) along with the transept were never finished. Lack of interest and funding halted any construction since the '90s. There was a fire in the unfinished north transept, which damaged the gift shop and destroyed valuable tapestries. In 2008, the cathedral leased some of its land for a glass apartment tower, and more recently, another lease for 99 years. This one allowed two residential towers to be built right along the north side of the cathedral, but at least they earn $3 million per year, which could be used for completing construction! Sadly, the cathedral is not designated a NYC landmark, which might potentially put it at risk for demolition for further development.

You know what I mean by story, that's what I like to heard uh... or read 😁 The problem with Megalopolises is the difficulty in bringing together different styles of buildings, different heights and times. Amateur of futuristic movies, younger I would have demolished all the old buildings to build only building with pure lines. Now older, I appreciate the marriage of times and respect any architectural form 😏

There are only 4 or 5 blocks height underground, so impossible to build ;) I don't make any details, I choose and retain the most important ...like the rotating stairs, so beautiful :D
