if you place a redstone ore block and walk across it, it will act as a timer and only be activated for a short time(untill this block unlights itself)

You can just burn a stick and it will work lol

The minecraft wiki says that sticks also burn for 5 seconds, so this would be a sapling and stick detector ;)

I love the Idea ! Good redstonners need three things : imagination to create usefull things, a brain to convert the idea into a redstone mecanism, and two hands which put the redstone at the correct place...
