Aaaand another delay between my uploads! Sorry, since I don't really have an excuse for this one aside from general laziness in making the title picture. No status update on the Dauntless either. Making good progress on the blog/blog ship though, so expect that by May. (I know, long time)
Specs!
Upon the production of the first SF-18s, a need was quickly found for a heavier attack craft to assist with more dangerous missions. Skylord Brony designed the SF-8 as a space-worthy A-10 on steroids, packing as much armament as the average Falcon-class and then some, with maneuverablity and speed nearly matching its little brother. The larger size allowed for a larger and more powerful cold fusion reactor, which in turn powered a warp field generator, making the Daemon the first Skylord military FTL vessel. Unlike the Harpy, it is only capable of landing on airstrips and the Andromeda-class, being too large and heavy for the Dauntless. Also unlike the SF-18, it is currently only available to the Skylord military and civilian market, albiet demilitarized for the latter. Despite these differences, Daemon uses a scaled-up version of the same Pratt & Whitney VASIMR engine in the Harpy, and there are plans to adapt the reactor to fit in its smaller sibling. A spaceworthy and airworthy craft, the Daemon is planned for escort missions, strikes on enemy spacecraft, ground support, and strategic bombing missions before being replaced in that role by a dedicated bomber in development. The Daemon is also the first craft in the Skylord fleet to accomodate railguns, a recent innovation by Skylord weapons contractor Trojan Technologies that made the concept starfighter-sized. The most powerful aircraft in the Skylord Space Fleet so far, it will soon be outgunned by upcoming vessels.
