I'm talking over 7,000,000 blocks BIG. The kind of BIG that makes jaws drop. BIG.

In the recent weeks many of you have challenged me to make a Sky Citadel, Floating Sky Docks for my Airships, etc, etc.... I decided to meet that challenged by building my first ever floating Sky Fortress, modeled very closely after the one in my story!

Sky Fortress Houjokai:
The Arkellian Empire's crowning technological achievement - Sky Fortress Houjokai is as much a fortress as it is a flying city. Originally designed by the fabled Arcanists (powerful humans who protect the Empire with the power of the gods), the Fortress's name literally means "Heaven's Cannon." The Central Reactor is in actuality a superweapon - a mighty Aether Cannon pointed straight at the ground, powerful enough to wipe out an entire city in one shot. To augment this, the fortress has dozens upon dozens of anti-air, long range, and short range cannons to fend off literally any type of assault. Arcanist engineering resulted in rotating double turrets and hanging rail turrets that can slide and angle into any firing trajectory for the ultimate defensive capability. When all else fails, Arcanist Wards can both shield the fortress from all incoming assaults or completely hide it from view.

For those friendly to the Empire, the fortress becomes more of a safe haven - it has facilities to support itself completely independent from the rest of the world. Aside from the defenses, the fortress is divided into Three Main districts: The Docks District (upper and lower), the Works District, and the Arcane District. All three districts feature ample space for living and in total can house over 120 permanent residents with plenty of room left over for visitors.

The Docks District is the main entry point for newcomers onto the Fortress - air travelers are greeted by wondrous views of Houjokai's towering spires and glowing lights, and are immediately drawn into the bustling activity of the Market circle. Just a short walk (and a couple elevator rides) away are a public archive, a fancy domed restaurant, and a farm.

The Works District is the main activity area of the fortress. Upon entry into this district, one can hear the sparking and grinding of the Houjokai shipyard and warehouse, where small airships and parts of larger airships are manufactured on site and delivered to clients wealthy enough to purchase them. The SkyView Inn, a luxurious, three tower hotel, extends into the middle of the district and offers guests a stunning view of the entire city during their stay. The far side of the district features a hospital and offices for corporate clients.

The Arcane District is the Empire's exclusive and only flying Arcanist Academy, where the best of the Imperial Arcanists come to train and hone their abilities in a practical, hands on environment. The Academy features several dormitory towers, a library, an observatory (called the Astralarium), and the Office of the Dean as well as several smaller offices. Exclusive to the Arcane District are the Academy's private docks, often used when the main docks become crowded, or when Imperial Dignitaries arrive.

All three districts feature common services - there is a towering, three story Police Station in each district, where the Houjokai Security Police keep watch over the populace and maintain peace onboard the Fortress. For additional ease of transit, Houjokai offers at least one Air Taxi Station per district, easily connecting all three Districts with a short flight. The Massive Fortress is kept aloft with 9 powerful antigravity focusing reactors, Arcanist Engineered tunnels pointed at the ground, designed to maximize the already impressive properties of the Sorian Levi-crystals. The Fortress is capable of movement, though it is somewhat slow and ponderous. Imperial Defense teams are always kept up to date on conflict matters throughout the empire so they can accurately predict and decide where to deploy Houjokai. Lastly, the Fortress offers enough docks to house an entire battalion of airships, both large and small.

This is a VERY large project, and I still have a lot more to do on it, so the schematic is not available at this time. Once it hits 100%, I'll have one ready, and probably a World Download as well.

As you can expect, every building in this structure is fully furnished, so it's very well tailored to the players out there who like to RP and explore - there's a ton of places to go here and the sights are amazing!
