I like skyscrapers. They take a generous proportion of land space but have more floor area than other buildings. They are the solution to minimal and extensive land usage in high-density urban settlements. In lieu of my interest in these massive steel beasts, I constructed a miniature city of skyscrapers. It's not large nor impressively designed; I admit that I am terrible at designing complicated things as I prefer... minimalism. The city is visually appealing, though. I personally dislike the look of it in the default texture pack but I absolutely love the appearance in my favored texture pack, The End is Extremely Nigh.
At first, I was taking existing skyscrapers and designing them in Minecraft; most of the towers are replicas. The rest are very loosely based off of towers. The interiors are not accurate at all. Here's a list of towers in the city:
If I ever stop being lazy, I may add more buildings somehow. I will add a world save for those who do not feel like joining my server, although it would be appreciated if you do. Also, the buildings are empty besides the apartment complex. I plan on adding stuff to the insides.

- Willis Tower - A symbol of Chicago itself, the Willis Tower is the largest skyscraper in American and an entire hemisphere. It stands at 500m high which means it's impossible to build it to 1:1:1 scale. The skyscraper in the city is accurate in many ways but height.
- Solow Building - This tower is an oddly designed tower with a sloped front facade. I obviously can't building this in Minecraft. The tower itself is, of course, taller than the build limit. It's approximately 192m in height in the city which means it's a fraction of the actual height. I edited the front and reverse sides of the tower because it looked a bit odd.
- New York Times Tower - Times Tower is a tower named after a famous plaza in New York. The building is notable as it houses the New York Times newspaper company and totes that it's energy efficient.
- Monorail Station - A monorail station. I designed the entire monorail and the actually-quite-nice terminal.
- Complex 1984 - A hotel named after a famous distopian novel by George Orwell. It will feature signs only in Newspeak. The is the only building with stuff in it so far. It features ~60 spacious hotel rooms for later use.
- Malkioan Institute - A random building. It houses an entire university. The right building will house dormitories and the right will house classrooms. The second right building will be a garden with each level housing a different biome.
