Hello again,
I'm back, now with only a few ships left to post and coming up to the best work I've done so far in Minecraft shipbuilding. This is the St. Louis-class protected cruiser from 1905, the oldest ship I've built so far and one of my favourite works to date. It was an extremely complex build from my early days of shipbuilding in 2018. I built this ship after my Russian destroyers that I posted a couple of weeks back when I was just getting started posting here on PMC. I'm delighted with how it turned out, as challenging as it was to build. The underwater hull is decent but could do with more work, I'd certainly design it a little differently if I built this ship again but even looking at it now, it's an impressive build regardless.
I used the World of Warships model to help me design it, especially necessary given the age of the photographs of this vessel. I modelled the stock ship because I wanted to represent the class in its original condition, with the beautiful Great White Fleet paint scheme and the plethora of small calibre pre-WWI secondary armament, that you tended to see on these types of ships. The upgraded version in WoWs is correct for the era, late war-spec with most of the small calibre secondaries removed and a couple of early AA guns fitted, as well as the change of paint scheme, but you can see why I prefer the original look.
The model is highly accurate so I didn't have to make many or any adjustments to the ship (makes a change lol) so what you see here is pretty much a 1:1 Minecraft version of the WoWs model.
As for the armament, in true protected cruiser fashion, it's extensive and mostly unnecessary. It's as follows:
14 x 152mm/50 Mark VI Guns In Mark X Mounts [14 x 1]
18 x 76.2mm/50 Mark V Guns [18 x 1]
12 x 47mm/40 3pdr Hotchkiss Mark I Guns [12 x 1]
8 x 37mm/40 1pdr Hotchkiss Mark VIII RF Guns [8 x 1]
4 x 37mm/40 1pdr Hotchkiss Mark III/V Guns [4 x 1]
There you have it! If you have a keen eye you can see all of these guns depicted on my model, it's always fun to design a ship that's rammed with guns. I hope you like this ship, it's definitely one of my favourites so far. Please give it a like and post a comment with your thoughts, I'd love to hear what you guys think. Coming up tomorrow will be another submarine, my third Royal Navy sub, the Vanguard-class. I will see you then!
Speak soon,

I would like to confirm that I am an idiot. The St. Louis-class cruisers were protected or semi-armoured cruisers, not armoured cruisers as I originally described in my title and in the description. They were especially large for protected cruisers, due to the creeping growth of warship designs that still persists to this day. My apologies for the misinformation.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm definitely up for sending you the ship to participate in that project and I'm flattered that my work is good enough for such fine company as those others in your project. There are a couple of things I'd like to be clear on, though:
Firstly, the texture pack I used for it is my own version of Flows HD and may look very strange in vanilla or any other pack, so some heavy modification might be needed on your end to make it work.
Secondly, I'm probably not going to be building any more from this era for a while, due to the scale of these projects and their difficulty. However, if and when I do build more, I'm happy to supply them if the option is still available and the work is good enough, of course.
Finally, of course, I'd like fair credit for my work, but I'm sure you would give credit, you seem like a decent person so I probably didn't need to ask.
Cheers,
MCMG
