Welp, I haven't uploaded much substantial recently and that's because I don't have anything. As a result, have something that has been done for quite some time but I never got around to uploading: my heavy space dropship! This started as a really large tiltrotor (think the V-44X Blackfish from Arma although I built this long before Apex came out) that I converted to space, and I like how it looks. Unfortunately the tiltrotor design still needs work so I'm holding off from uploading it, so enjoy the space version! The .zip in the schematic button holds a landed (doors open) and in-flight (doors closed) version of the SV-66 and SAV-66.

The SV-35 turned out to be an incredibly capable platform for light utility from spacecraft, but trials with the UTS Marine Corps revealed several flaws for amphibious operations. It had a low troop capacity, only two squads at most, and could not carry vehicles larger than a Humvee inside or slung underneath. As a result, the Space Fleet began searching for a heavy duty VTOL spacecraft to supplement the SV-35. While Limited Astrofrontier, a start-up shipbuilder specializing in light civilian cargo craft, proposed an entirely ground-up design, Brony Aerospace came forward with a conversion design for a heavy VTOL already in the UTSAF's inventory: the V-66 tiltrotor. The total cost of a new V-66 airframe combined with the conversion kit was still only 75% of Limited's proposal, which however was saved for consideration for a heavier general transport spacecraft. The SV-66, as it was designated, became the premiere heavy spacecraft in the UTSSF, capable of both space and atmospheric flight. Due to its size, however, it cannot be stored aboard most ships as an auxiliary craft, instead reserved for dedicated carriers and planetary assault ships.
On top of transporting more troops, equipment, and vehicles, the Marines desired a variant for close air support if fighters had to be engaged elsewhere, so BA developed a similar kit for the AV-66 gunship, armed with 2 105mm cannons and 4 25mm rotary cannons. Additional conversion elements included extra RCS jets and fuel tanks to compensate for recoil and reinforcements in engine connection points. Both aircraft are very new to the fleet, but due to their high multirole capabilities, the UTSSF and UTSMC look forward to the future.
